peasants are zeros.

play a hero, but no skills past adequate?
Play a 'high attrubute' demigod?

I only play peasant, and I make it to noble's quests roughly half the time...
I want to uncap it because I don't want to play Demigods - I want to play Peasants or Heros - and flood the legends with incompetent superhumans (My biggest gripe here - I feel demigod status should be earned, not given). I want my characters to start from nothing, and acquire their superabilities the old-fashioned way, but not be limited in my advancement because my hero was only "Average" in his starting abilities, despite forcing himself through hell and coming back again. I should probably be asking in the modding section, but it's scary in ther

I'm not sure what you mean by a cap... I don't know of any limitations. Your attributes will improve just like your skills.

Whatever your starting attributes are, they are capped at double that, no matter your skill gain.

Excepting vamps, but I am not sure.  I try not to be one, honestly.

My question is whether I can edit the game to allow me to override that or not.

Put this line
[PHYS_ATT_CAP_PERC:5000][MENT_ATT_CAP_PERC:5000]
somwhere in your creatures and they'll be able to get up to the overall natural cap of 5000.

If bay12 has a holy book it's probably somewhere in this thread.

Or you could set the cap to NONE.

No, that's impossible.

What if I changed child age to something like 140 (of 180)?

Yeah, that might work, but since you don't know how old your adventurer is, you can't be sure. You could also create a custom race called "Children" or use "Child" as a first name, but I don't really see the benefit in any of that.

Vampirism excludes werewolfism, werewolfism excludes vampirism.

Yes, I used the wrong terms.

are there any disadvantages to being a necromancer?
is there an easy way to become a werecreature? does being a werecreature stop stat growth like being a vamp does? how does being a were affect your relationship with civilization?
