I feel like if I knew I had a high chance to die very soon I would just sit and wait and contemplate existence.

Whelp... that position I've been on about was finally posted, and I just submitted my application.  Going to go reward myself now with that Sui Generis precursor - Exanima.  Hopefully it eases some anxiety!
Is that a euphamism for ten bottles of scotch with a heroin chaser? :P

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Terrible nightmares. With leukemia as their main topic, of all things.  :-X

You should be safe, the film is banned in New Zealand.

Even if you found a suitable opening, I doubt it would prove all too satisfying. And it might leave some nasty wounds, depending on the moral high ground's geology.
Location subject to periodic change.
Baffler likes silver, walnut trees, the color green, tanzanite, and dogs for their loyalty. When possible he prefers to consume beef, iced tea, and cornbread. He absolutely detests ticks.

So it is. Sadly, the wiki page isn't, and that was enough.

Remind me again why the rest of the world hasn't turned Australia into a radioactive wasteland?
...actually scratch that, I don't want to see what mutant spiders look like.
You mean it isn't a radioactive wasteland?
No it's more of dessert wasteland filled with many hostile critters, the local (human?) population seems to reported as hardy, risk taking, and rather awesome.
One thing I heard that would terrify me if I were the guy mentioned was that I guy was out in the bush and got bit by a black mamba so what does he do? He calls for and abulance grabs a chair and cracks open a bear while he waits, the venom in his leg is potent enough to kill him in half an hour and he just sits there with a cold one waiting for help like it was nothing

Mambas will kill you quick. Thankfully there are less dangerous snakes out here south in Melbourne (we still have the red bellied black, the brown snake and the tiger snake, which can all kill you, though i don't think there's been a death attributed in a long time.).

Also look up Maralinga, part of the country is a radioactive wasteland. (It was a wasteland before the Brits dropped nukes on it.)

and make sure it's the page for the actual book by the Marquis de Sade, not the weak Italian film adaptation that only included the frame story.
