Do you have ADD?  Amphetamines effect people with ADD differently.  It mellows you out instead of making you hyper.  In small doses at least.
Pretty much any established ADD medication is various forms of amphetamines. Mine is a lysoamphetamine, for example.

It's entirely possible I do have ADD. I have some symptoms but no diagnosis. Don't get me wrong though, the drugs don't make me tired. Just not jittery, but focused and energized.

Hm. I had a nice peppermint mocha today... and felt next to no effect. It's possible I may have been energized a bit, but I'm not sure. It did taste good, though.

I ripped about 4x6 inches of skin off of each shoulder today. It came off in shreds and felt like someone peeling apart sticky magazine pages.

I was badly sunburned last time I drove my new used project car. The first time I've owned a convertible.

Can't get skin cancer if you don't have any skin.

My hearing is feeling worse than usual after listening to music through my shitty earphones for a while earlier... I'm hoping it's not permanent damage, I didn't get any tinnitus as far as I noticed (which usually heralds permanent damage, I believe), but it's still terrifying. Hopefully it'll be better by tomorrow.

I wish I could afford decent headphones. Kinda tempted to just splash out the money for the ones I want now and hope no overly-large bills come in before next payday. I don't want to just throw money away on affordable pairs that aren't very good and that probably won't last long, but lately these cheap $10 in-ear ones have proven to be dangerous. D:
According to the internet, temporary hearing loss can last anywhere up to 48 hours.
This continues to be terrifying- I don't know if this damage is permanent or not. It's noticeably worse than usual and I hate it.
Makes it hard to sleep because I am constantly worrying about it. Perhaps if it doesn't clear up I could sue the supermarket that sells these unsafe earphones, perhaps get the money to afford whatever operations there are to repair hearing damage (I know my "usual" hearing loss is nerve damage and thus untreatable, but I've heard of operations to fix noise-induced damage).

Do you live in such a noisy place that you need to turn up the volume so high while wearing earphones that it hurts your ears?

These were just poor quality ones, I think. That or there's some problem with the output jack on my Ipod, but I doubt it.

Edit: For now I am just clinging to the hope that this is temporary, and that it will come good after a while assuming I avoid loud noises.
I have no clue if this is true or not, but if the idea keeps me from panicking, I shall keep clinging to it.

It probably is. I was deaf in one ear for two weeks, I got really freaked out, and then one day it just disappeared. I use crappy earphones all the time, and my hearing isn't too bad.

Of course, I'm no medical professional. If it persists, you should definitely see a specialist.

Thanks. Yeah, if it doesn't get better at some point I'll have to see a doctor/specialist, although what they could actually do for me I am unsure. Hearing aids have proven to be disappointingly useless in the past... I guess maybe if this doesn't clear up my hearing will actually be bad enough for them to seem necessary.

What I need now is basically just calming reassurance to stave off panic, which your first paragraph provided quite nicely. Thank you!

I have ADD and it feels like tiredness.  It made me look hyper on the outside when I was a kid but on the inside I could barely keep my eyelids open.  The medication made that go away, most of the time.

When I was younger I was told I had symptoms and but didn't actually have it.  That was in my case a load of bubkis and I most definitely should have been on meds.

I got out of the shower and put on my shirt, and felt something strange near the center of my back as I did. I stopped and so did it, so I ignored it and continued on with my day, thinking it was just the shirt tag or something. But as soon as I started moving again I started feeling it again, moving higher up, towards my right shoulder, and down my arm really quickly. I rolled up my sleeve, and saw a quarter-sized parson spider running as quickly as it possibly could right down my arm. I brushed it off reflexively, but instead of being swept off it clung onto the back of my left hand standing stock still. I slowly put my hand next to the sink, and it immediately ran off of my hand and into a crack between the sink fixture and the back wall.

I always carry plenty of gum with me, it's a great way to make friends. ^-^

Thanks for the magnesium tip, though, I've been told to take antacid before my medication but I'd never heard of that. Interesting.

Fakeedit @NinjaBaffler: Goodness, that would do me a frighten indeed. Impressive how you kept your cool as opposed to entering panicky flailing mode.
At least it wasn't a centipede or such. Those are freaky even if they don't startle you like that.
