The first 2 were made a long time ago, the 3rd was made a bit later.

I noticed it gets jumpy when you zoom it, and goes several spaces at a time when you'd expect zooming in would give you a finer control. It's kind of a pain in the ass trying to get pieces aligned perfectly.

@cerapa, who ninja'd me: The second looks like one of the vanilla ships, the Peitho, minus some equipment.

Plus, there's a huge community, who have done such things and who you can show your creations off to.

Beware that promise people, the Wyrdysm community is very hostile, they will pick your creations apart. If you can't take soul shattering criticism without much civility, don't sign up there.

Anyway, I still have this topic I ever so slowly drop my designs into, I never really touch shipwright sections so don't expect to see those.

How so I set the firing arcs for my guns? Can't find a tutorial for that anywhere. Are they fixed based on gun type?

I and K, I think. Interceptor weapons like the Flak gun always have a 360° arc, though.

You can alos go into the edit tab and modify arc directly.

See also: I don't feel like making a new topic just because it's been almost a year. THIS TOPIC SHALL LIIIIIIIIIIIIVE.

Dramatics aside, you may be pleased to know that I have started making bunches and bunches of ships again. Including something with those SW sections! Although it's very basic. They take some getting used to. That, and it  seems like you have to use a lot more sections to make it look really good.

I have also built a decently-sized fleet with normal sections and various religious-sounding names (:/), which I will throw at this thread at a later date; as well as some miscellanea (one has a flamethrower XD), and I'm working on a couple of very big stations. One of which moves and has a Dieterling Device. XD

....And why is SHAD0Wdump banned from BSF forums anyways? O_o

Needs less colour.

Tips: Less saturated color (eyeburn). Less color overall (we don't need Christmas colors). No blue+green+red style: it's ugly. Move weapons closer to the "beefier" sections of the ship. Fill in the empty sections of the ship. Possibly pick stouter or "smoother" side wings (the current selection just doesn't sit well with me, though it's just me). Remove the back two wings or pick less blocky wings and move them further away from the center of the Z axis. Remove or hide that device in the front of the ship, since devices cannot have custom sprites, so they will always look out of place no matter what.
