UPDATE: 04th of October 2016:
Full release on Steam.

UPDATE: 30th of March 2014:
The game is now on Steam Early Access and its current version is 0.0.3.
Survive the bugs! [pun intended] :D

UPDATE: 15th of October 2013:
The website of the game changed to http://unclaimedworld-game.com/ a while ago, and so did the name of the game (was Conlan's Claim).
There is a demo in development, and on the last post from the devs on their forums, they now have 2 new programmers on their team.

-- Original 2010 Post:
Don't ask me how I found this, but it's a game still in early development by 'two people in their spare time', about building a colony in a far away world:

"“Conlan’s Claim” is a sci-fi game about survival and exploration of a new world. You will be able to plan and manage a human settlement on an alien planet.
The game is currently in development and it will be a single player downloadable game. "
From their site.

You can find more info here http://conlansclaim.com/ , along with a teaser video and screenshots.
I liked the idea and the setting. And as some of you may already noted, everything that includes 'building' sparks much interest in me.

Also, since I noticed their forums had no one, and it was really hard and random to find their page (probably because they are indies, doing it on spare time...i.e. not promoting it), I decided to send them an email, asking for a release date.

Let's hope they finish it :]

edit: Changed the topic subject to be a little more informative.

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.  The obvious solution is to chain the baby up at the entrance as a kobold detector.

unique angle and a underutilized concept. A new genre in the making perhaps.

It's not a new genre, it fits under other ones.

I like it a lot.
Curious what the scale will be, personally i would more like if it had small scale, where you have take care individual astronauts and their equipment. And hope it will have some aspect of DF, like body parts damage instead of HP...

This looks quite promising, though the title isn't nearly as eyecatching as the concept.

I'm liking this. Good art style and concept. It also seems like they've worked out a good number of ideas for this game, and that's a good sign.

I want to say it sounds like Alien Legacy, but that might be wrong.
