Hey Bay12, just wanted to know if anyone here is aware of any games that are similar to flOw.

You’re a protozoan-esce organism that needs to survive in an unforgiving world, consuming smaller organisms to grow which is require to fight off the larger ones. The game allowes you to "dive" between levels where the organisms get stronger and meaner.

I’m not really sure what I find so interesting in the concept. I suppose in today’s world of complex games and social relationships the whole simple “eat, breed, survive” system seems to really stir something primeval inside. 

I know that Spore’s cell stage is much the same but after playing Spore at a friend’s house all desire to get the game left me fairly quick (though the animal and cell stage can be a fair amount of fun). I’ve seen Osmos compared to flOw but it really strikes me much more of a puzzle game.

Finally I’m aware flOw came out on the play station, call me a bad consumer but the day I buy a $200+ console to play a single good game will be the day I construct a sensible analogy.

FlOw is pretty, I liked it for its beauty. And yeah I borrowed friend's PSP to play it during my lections on physics and medicine .

osmos?

tis not free, though, i bought it with the bundle, so i got a pretty good deal. its a fine game, a bit more complex than flOw, it is more difficult and packs more hours of play, and 10 bucks isn't a steep price, depending on your budget.

Whoops sorry mixed up the names in the first post, should have been "Osmos" rather than "Osmoses"(I think it's a better name).

As for Osmos itself, yeah I did play it. Didn't mind it but it does get pretty hard. 10 bucks is pretty steep for my budget

As for the gameplay it could be seen as rather different as it's a lot slower paced focusing more on tactics/thought. I don't mind complex games but I do like zoning out after a long session of let's say something like dwarf fortress with something easy and pretty. I will consider this though, thanks.
