I got the idea from thinking about World War Z: an old, blind man uses some sort of spade/shovel-staff doohickeymabobberthingyjig of which I forgot the name to fend off a bunch of zombies; in particular, he uses the sharp edge of the shovel end to sever the heads of the zombies from the rest of their bodies. Since Gustave's wielding a shovel, and these monsters were supposed to be zombies, why not?

You see a large cloud of dust on the horizon, and the engineers PUNCH the button.

....The rocket barely moves Nodachi 50 meters before exploding and blackening the armor without damaging it. The cloud seems to slow down, though, so whatever it is must be afraid of loud noises.

Also, SPACE PIRATES are ATTACKING the PEACEKEEPERS SHIP. the STATION is apparently PIRATICALLY COMMANDEERED, which makes the chances of actual help coming EVEN LOWER.

TOTALLY CALLED IT!! Also, about the cloud, get the domes former marching band to begin playing. Or maybe get the engineers setting up a super stereo system and play heavy metal. That seems more appropriate.
