Dwarven New Year's Resolutions
« on: December 31, 2010, 11:12:26 pm »

Every year we make resolutions on how we will improve our lives, so why not come up with ways for us to improve our Dwarf Fortress experience. A new year is a new beginning; we'll look back and say "wow, remember when we had to ________ to do ________"?

I, for one, resolve to check for neighboring civilizations BEFORE embarking. Yes, that volcano/river site looks nice, but it's no fun without something to drown/burn. I never get seiges because I always pick secluded corners of the world miles away from civilization/deserted islands in the middle of the ocean.

Think of it like Sim City, except with rival mayors that seek to destroy your citizens by arming legions of homeless people and sending them to attack you.

I'll try to confront a siege with an army of my own instead of pancaking them under a huge slab of rock.

Holy schist, this thread is mica me sick.
DF Players never truly leave.  They just abandon the fortress for a few years and then reclaim.
