I think I found it through TIGSource but after genning a world couldn't make heads or tails of it. A few months later I was reading LotR and while reading the journey through Moria I was reminded of DF so I finally started playing, using the wiki, and joined the community.

i was looking at some dude's screen thinking "holy shit that looks cool". i asked what the game was and he gave me a copy and took me 4 hours to figure out how to play.

(I remember being flabbergasted by reading powergoals and devplans for Armok that were still linked to from the dev page then. Are Armok pages gone now?)

StarCraft II forum -> MineCraft -> MineCraft Forum -> Dwarf Fortress

(someone on the forum was talking about a suggestion and the minecraft could get super complex and everything and he said: 'after playing dwarf fortress I don't think anything will get more complex than that' and I tried it ^^
