Ghosts grow up!

Well, will you look at this?  A baby died (my fortress has a high infant mortality rate- you can see another baby's death in this screencap as well).

I'm so proud of the little tyke.  I suppose this implies that he'll eventually grow into a ghostly peasant... do you suppose a ghost could die of old age?

Yeah, found that out too after I reclaimed my fortress. I almost considered registering myself for the DF wiki because somebody said in a discussion that babies don't become ghosts.

If ghosts age, can ghosts die of old age?  And if so, do they actually go away for good, or do they just come back as a ghost again?  Someone needs to find out.

Generate a world where dwarves are modded to die of old age earlier. Start a fort, wait for dwarves to die, don't slab/bury them if they died of old age.

Fun fact, Giant Capybara will rip up a noob wrestler and won't even realize it.  Also, when trying to kill an amphibious creature, the military will sometimes jump in after them.  4 deaths, 1 critical injury, 2 survivors.

Eagerly awaiting results. This type of study could prove to be extremely useful for forts suffering from ghost-lag.

Halfway.  It would require you to kill your population, as it means changing the max age to something lethal.  Not to mention .22 is promising a solution for ghost lag.

I now have like three ghosts.  We'll know in ~5 years if they suffer aging.  I'm gonna uncap my FPS and leave a farm and murky pool for the peasants.
