I especially love the pose- befitting of an occultic god-king!

Quite true - I believe it is more or less exactly the Baphomet pose, actually.

Also - EXCELLENT Chilton.  I love to see the ones that really commit to a distinctive artistic style.  Your high contrast "ink-smear" depiction is appropriately stark and terrifying.  It looks like a half-glimpsed image from nightmares.  In other words - perfect.

I opened up the Unread Replies page and saw that you were the last poster. I got scared. Something about you posting scares me, ever since Failcannon.

Thanks - That was why I didnt mess with it.

I tinkered with it a bit later on, but I think ill save more sketchy stuff for the next one.
This one seems to be... Completed, by its own Basicness. :)

Maybe add a misty cavern background. Other than that i like it because of the etheal qualitys it has. Like it's there but not.

A Smokey, Obscure Cavern. Barely Visible in the Dull Light carried by the Explorer. The bare Shadow of the Beast, gazing from the Depths...

Here's one:

Quote
Usu was a forgotten beast. It was the only one of its kind. A towering ceratopsid composed of flame. It has a pair of fan-like antennae and it appears to be emaciated. Usu was associated with deformity and caverns.

Nothing like a good fire dinosaur, right?

Tee-hee. ^.^

Towering... antennae... :P
I think making the building a fire department was cheating a little, and some parts feel tacked on, but I'm not an artist, so I'm pretty happy with it.

It's not the best thing in the world, and it looks a lot more birdlike than I wanted, but hey, I gave it a try.

Spoiler: My attempt (click to show/hide)

Yeah, I took some creative liberties. It's tricky to make a dinosaur composed of flame, and even trickier if he has to be emaciated.

Also, I need to get a scanner.

And a pencil.

I want to join in on the next beast, or possibly this one. You guys won't mind, will you? I'll have to see if I get the time.

Anyone of the equivalent to the royal bloodline in a nomadic group would have a sun tattooed on their hand, or a scrotum on their forehead (it's a little-known fact that fraternities are based off of long-forgotten tribes).

It's been a few weeks, and nothing has been awarded, so I'm going to throw one in.

"The forgotten beast Ngostong Ustuzbad Agakzomus has come! A towering three-eyed alligator twisted into humanoid form. It appears to be emaciated. Its cream scales are small and set far apart. Beware its webs!"

In an attempt to jumpstart this, I drew a little rendition of my own.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I'll choose the winner after three days - that's on the 18th. Even if you don't think you'll win, at least entertain us with your attempt!  :) That's the best part about this thread. All qualities of art are equally accepted here.

You know, I'm very surprised you guys didn't win an award (per person) for doing this, distinguished artists!  :D

Strongrudder that was an epic dipiction of a typical my-little-pony's arch-enemy's deity.  ;D

This guy!

Woot! I was seriously impressed with that           ! It really brought out the best of Ngostong.

Basically, I think I made an epic fail by posting here in the first place.  :P Oh well, live and learn. At least I replied, though.
