Slowpokez: Nice drawing! And oh man, sorry to hear that about the video startling you. I understand if I see some more 'thumbs down' on the video...

RCMGames - I still don't understand how you can do that with a tablet. It's not as if the tablet shows the image for you to draw on... does it? :O

Anyways, I'm going to try and force myself to draw today. Wish me luck!

I use a tablet as well. Many of my recent entries exist only digitally without any drawings or concepts on paper. While it is true that you cannot see the image on the tablet, it isn't hard to sync your brain with the computer screen. Once you get good at it, it can be easier to use than physical media since your hand is not in your way and you can undo mistakes.

Ok it seems like we have 4 entries: chewie, slowpokez, PlutoniumApe, and diamondwolf. I'm going to extend it until Friday night (I'll chose a winner at 5pm Eastern Time), where I'll pick a winner, then hopefully we can get another FB chosen for everyone to start up on during the weekend :)

Exactly what diamondwolf said, once you start to get used to using the tablet it is invaluable. To be able to paint those smooth strokes in the computer, then quick hit undo to erase a mistake is truly an awesome aspect of digital painting. I'm no expert though. On that note if you are interested in Photoshop, there are some amazing tutorials/tips at http://www.ctrlpaint.com/ about digital painting.

I'm saving for my tablet (still doing everything with my mouse) and spent last night almost watching half of those videos.
Interesting videos for any artist, not only digital. Seeing the pressure sensitivity with tablets almost killed me.

Hello everyone! I finally decided to break out of the lower forums and enter this every week. I don't intend to win since I don't play DF long enough to encounter forgotten beasts, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy watching other people play it.

Since I can't generate a monster I'll just stick to the side lines and just post my picture anyways, so don't pick me. Well... Unless there is a forgotten beast generator I missed. Either way here is my submission.

I think we have a winner, although your dwarf looks kinda elven to me D:

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

I think you can look up forgotten beasts in legends mode.

If you generate a world and play it in legends mode then all you have to do is go to historical figures and look for the entries that say forgotten beast after them. Just find the one you want and hit enter on it, it should display the information for the forgotten beast. See, easy as pie.

Then it's a good thing he's being chased by a forgotten beast. I'll try and fix it in other pictures.

Ok so we have:

diamondwolf: I really like the style, almost looks like it could be stained glass.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

PlutioniumApe: Also great style, love the fire and feather work.

slowpokez: Great detail in all the happenings around Stosbub!

chewie: The saga of Stosbub... Great depiction and love the humorous captions.

and The Fool: A great piece, excellent lighting and story elements.

And.. I'm going to have to go with... SLOWPOKEZ! It is such a detailed drawing, with the various dwarves and ruins. It also really captures the anguish of the misinterpreted mother figure with the black, bleeding eyes... Congratulations! Now pick a new one so we can all get started on another!
