Due to my not so good English skills and the dictionary not helping I must ask for the definitions of the following words: towering, theropod, mandible, gaunt, ecru.

Anyone?

I had to look half of them up as well, so can you.
Gaunt was especially challenging, I found over 20 meanings of the word.

BTW I noticed that the letters on the posts on DD's Ceti picture are c, e and t. Maybe there is am i down there and it makes Ceti.

I just did a search for mandibles on google and got a bunch of pictures of bug mouths, while just searching mandible gets the lower jaw. Its probably just the moving parts of a mouth then, so Ceti's mouth would have multiple moving jaws like a bug's or like in DD's picture, how it has 4 jaws.

Huh, I just looked at it, and there does seem to be a C, E, and T in there.

I give up! I try drawing but whenever I look back at DD's picture, mine is just horribly ugly. I should try playing some DF and draw simpler stuff.
I noticed that no drawing has shown any signs of the poisonous gas yet.
Oh and DD, may I ask where did you learn drawing? School? Went somewhere to separately learn it? Learned from the internet? Just developed over time?

I had to google some of those words myself (theropod and ecru I had no idea)

towering= Very tall
theropod= a type of dinosaur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theropoda)
mandible= Jaw bone
gaunt= skinny, thin, emaciated
ecru= a shade of brown (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Shades_of_brown)

I tried drawing AB several times, but it's kind of hard to make a woodpecker look like a woodpecker if it doesn't have a beak. Heh.

So, here's Ceti instead.

I love the engravings in the background.

The engravings really make that drawing, don't they?
(They almost have a "Blade Runner" feel to them)

Re the definitions:
towering= Super tall
theropod= two-legged dinosaurs and their descendants. From T-Rexes to T-urkeys.
mandible= Jaw bone, but also, and more likely in this case, the odd pincer-ey things that spiders and bugs have for mouthparts.
(though I do like DarkerDark's interpretation - I'd call those mandibles. That or "head-chompers")
gaunt= Skinny. Really damn skinny. In a creepy way. Skinny as to have bones showing through skin.
ecru= yeah, I had to google it.

Whenever I have problems with a drawing I tend to try to add a bit of humor in there. People tend to appreciate a funny picture more than a well drawn one.

Probably not the impression you were trying to give, Siquo, but it still made my day.

I'll try and draw something up, though dunno if I'll have much internet for a while! We'll see.

Yeah, I used this as a model, and that leg just really didn't make it. Also, the trees look like mushrooms and and... ok I drew it in 3 minutes while I was at work, and had to be careful none of my coworkers saw a huge T-Rex on my screen.

In a hope to get people to post more drawings, good or awful, I will post my drawing that i spent about 40 minutes on, I really like the shading on the upper-lip of the dwarf on the right. (he's the only special one in the fort, I think ceti must have knocked his marbles about.)
