I did try colouring mine, but it seems to work fine without:

Woha ... I'll have nightmares from that :o

@PCPaste: is that dwarf wearing an adamantine armor and battle axe?

Yes, it is... That's normally how I deal with all of my problems. Almost always effective. I'd rather have one dwarf with the slight possibility of dying rather then several dozen dead dwarves.

This made me chuckle. I can't imagine how many millenias that beetle has been alive in order to amass such a majestic horde of fecese.

Another thing, in order for a dung beetle that absurdly large to be alive, it would require a very high oxygen level. Definately not something to be found in a sealed cave miles below the earth. Am I thinking too hard?

I suppose that "giant hairy dung bettle" can have additional lungs or run on anaerobic respiration. Or "A wizard did it" - no link as I am lazy.

Yup, at first i tried to draw one 'out of the box brain', but it didn't look like a beetle ...

I'd say rhesusmacabre wins this one so far.

Dynamic pose, excellent shading, actual monster feel. You know, that sort of stuff.
It does look good. Anyone else going to post anything?

And what gives Sean Mirrsen's or Thorus' or my Wawana and less monster feel-y?

I think  that the shading is a little too overdone. (Not that mine is any better, in fact it's worse. Barley any shadows, it looks like daytime in that cave.)

And to be honest, I like Sean Mirrsen's the best so far.

(Note: Nothing against the Resus, really. If you decide to get insulted, my opinions don't matter. If not, then they're critique.)

Difficult decision ... rhesusmacabre's has a real nightmare feeling and nice shading.

But I vote for PCpastes Wawana, cause I like the comic style, colouring and there is more adamantine.

Mine looks like a silly samurai wannabe thing, Sean's is a small town with legs (too big and it isn't scary, imo) and yours/Thorus' is a big bug with a few extras.

Rhesus left out any size comparison so you can pick your favorite horror. Plus IT'S COMING RIGHT AT YOU!

It's all in the eye of the beholder. Depends on what 80s gore movies you like, I suppose.

I vote Sean Mirrsen.
(I also voted up at the top, so don't get confused.)
I'm flattered to have two votes as apposed to none.

Rhesus Macabre wins by a landslide. Once more we play the waiting game.
