I pretty much pictured Aspad looking just like the image PlutoniumApe posted, with maybe a bit more "Great Unclean One" influencing it. But then I started thinking about this creature whose squirming flesh composed entirely of filth would twist and turn around an unseen skeleton. This creature would reveal it's face, a grinning skull, the symbol of death, just before consuming a living thing by absorbing it like an amoeba.

You guys inspired me to give this a shot.  I don't have very much experience with this kind of art, so any feedback on my composition or whatever from people who know what they're doing would be cool.

Tried to capture all the elements of the description.  I envisioned a tall, grimy figure slowly floating through the "depths of the world" until those digging too deeply would attract its attention.

The slouched shoulders really give this guy some personality. I can picture him floating around on those wings of his with his arms never moving, like the old monsters from the 50s style horror movies.

Also, is anyone else reminded of Cthulu?

Awesome.  Yeah, his face was supposed to look kind of like dripping ooze, but that ends up looking a lot like tentacles .
