What just happened?
« on: May 14, 2011, 07:32:39 am »

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

That happened on my first turn.

He used his first turn to breathe fire at me... Which I then blocked with my pine sheild... Did I mention i'm an elf?

Apperently pine is fireproof, or my sheild is magic.

Also, I remember dragons being harder, even with my armed and armored adventurers.

Keep in mind this ELF has only a PINE SHEILD on him. Nothing else.

EDIT: Oh, right, I picked up a few peices of armor. Never mind having NOTHING else but a pine sheild.

How old is the dragon? Look it up in legends when you die.

A 10 year old dragon is about as deadly as a 10 month old baby.

I think after the move from 40dDF to 2010DF fireballs no longer function like they should and apparently dragonfire might have issues as well. Burnable items are caught on fire if they're already on the ground and fire/dragonfire goes over them or grassfire ignites them. But breathing fire on already equipped items on living creatures? Totally safe.

The most danger dragonfire poses anyway is that it melts your fat off and you end up bleeding to death as result. Blocking firebreath/dragonfirebreath with a shield is an insta-save from the effect if I remember right.

Punching people in the head is a really REALLY good way to smash the skull into the brain, if it's an opportunity attack. Did you use the move keys to attack? If so, then that's probably what happened, seeing as the combat doohickey automatically chooses opportunity attacks over regular ones.
