See, the original plot to Geneshift had something to do with zombies or whatever, but in any case, players who die early can continue playing as zombies, with the ability to respawn if they kill a player in their undead(?) form.

I remember playing the old demo and I thought it was all right. Nothing mind-blowing, but fairly solid for the price of free.

I have no clue what's happened to it in the years since I played.

Gene shift used to be called subvein, and was billed as a top down gta shooter. I guess they finally released the full version. From what I remember, it was a really fun game several years ago, until they discovered how broken one of the skills was and the dev never fixed it for months on end because half the player base said it was fair. Said skill being a combination auto melee chainsaw plus a really hefty shield
