Apparently redeeming a free copy of Rocket League on the Epic Games store gets you a $10 coupon to get something else.

Recently discovered an open source billard game, Foobillard++ (an upgrade of an older open source game named Foobillard), from 2012 (but i had never heard about it before)
https://sourceforge.net/projects/foobillardplus/

It's actually quite good, needs some testing around to find all the functionalities (the manual is found in ...\foobillardplus\data\locale\en\

When you launch the game, click on the gold transparent "brick" to the left of the screen to see the buttons .
Click on the "Menu" button so you can change options, the type of billard you want to play(9ball, 8ball, snooker, carom), play in training, vs AI etc... and bring the actual Help to see the keys and etc...

Europa Universalis 2 is available for free on GoG for a few days.
So go claim it, it's very good .
https://www.gog.com

Once you have enough of the base game, there was the big mod for Europa Universalis 2 called AGCEEP that added a ton of events in historical or alternative grand campaigns. It's not needed to enjoy EU2 but increase vastly the content once you already played enough of the default one. Can be overwhelming if you didn't already played EU2 vanilla.
Sadly their website and hosted mod files disappeared with time
https://web.archive.org/web/20110628185834/http://www.agceep.net/introduction.htm

Fortunately some people mirrored them (read how to for install) :
https://www.gog.com/forum/europa_universalis_series/europa_universalis_2_mods_and_tweaks

I downloaded the AGCEEP and EGUFSM (as from what i read it seems to be required for AGCEEP) ones on mediafire
https://www.gog.com/forum/europa_universalis_series/europa_universalis_2_mods_and_tweaks/post3

edit : For people playing with Europa Universalis 2 , if you want it windowed DxWnd works perfectly for it (in the DxWnd mouse tab, check "Hide" at Cursor Visibility to avoid having both the window mouse pointer and the EU2 mouse pointer at the same time).

It is also very important to change the compatibility settings of dxwnd.exe to "Window XP SP3" or it will not launch a windowed EU2
You can also increase in the EU2 settings file the resolution from 800x600 to 1024x768 and do the same in dxwnd to have a larger window

If you're new to Europa Universalis games, there's an excellent guide on combatsim for EU2 :
https://www.combatsim.com/memb123/htm/2002/02/eu2-guide/

Original Flatspace from 2004 is free on Steam since January apparently.

A very nostalgic game for me, I remember playing the heck out of it's demo from some magazine disk. (No Internet subscription for me back then.)

It's a top down space sim set in a randomly generated galaxy with all the options you'd expect: trading, mining, acting as space taxi/courier, bounty hunting, piracy, mining, etc. Really nice music too. (I might be looking through nostalgy glasses though.)

My roguelike is free, it has complex procedurally generated monsters and engravings and paintings much like dwarf fortress. Maybe try it?' Its also a horror ascii roguelike.
I've also been developing it since 2014, so thats a lot of time and a lot of content.

I gave a try to this Teleglitch for this free offer as it never triggered my interest before, and i think i found the game with the worst choice of font ever.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Maybe the game is good, but certainly not good enough to have me willing to hurt my old eyes like that while reading all the logs you find through the bases you explore.

I used to game on some very primitive machines, and i parsed that straight away. It isn't pretty though.

Can't say for truly antique systems, but the very first computer i owned in 1984 (a Thomson MO5) had way more readable fonts than that, i remember typing tons of lines of those simple basic programs that were published in dedicated magazines ( so proud of me when i managed to make one work without typo after a hour of typing despite those programs weren't doing much :D ) .
Even those AppleII that i was too young to use (i think they appeared in the end of the seventies so i was still a kid in their time) had more readable fonts.

With the fonts from Teleglitch it would have been impossible to type anything without massive headaches.

5x3 font, for when you need every available pixel.
Also played on old machines, and you're right, basic and the command line didn't use such a small font, but lots of games would for labels. It was most common on portable displays like graphing calcs and pdas.
