I used to play Mordheim: CotD years ago.. despite all it's shortcomings I really liked that game but (iirc) it was sadly abandoned by the devs when they started developing Necromunda: Underhive Wars. I'm not sure if they continued working on it, after the latter was released so my opinion might be outdated.

- Game balance was a  bit of a mess. The undead warband (DLC) was clearly op compared to the others and you would play against them, (even in single player) even if you didn't have the dlc*. With proper tactics/luck you could win against them but it was difficult especially at low levels.

*Same applies to the witch hunters, but they were quite balanced.

- Likewise some builds were not viable. For example, judging by their innate skill, human captains are supposed to be played as "parry" tanks which works great..until you encounter one of the enemies that completely bypass "parries".

- Game performance is wonky and it seems to be affected by how long you've played with your current warband. Granted my pc's specs at the time were somewhere between the minimum and recommended, but I've noticed, consistently, that as a warband grew older/leveled up, enemy turns would take longer and longer, to the point that the game would effectively "freeze"** and you had to restart it.

** The game wasn't crashing, but it's turn based and you were practically locked while the enemy made his move which he didn't so.. yeah doesn't matter  :(

Bring Kobold Kamp to LNP! graphics compatibility fix.

So the conclusion I'm getting here is that we use QSPs because dwarves can't pilot submarines.

On gog you can claim "Book of Demon", it's a Diablo-like in which everyone and everything is made of papercraft
Never heard about that one before but it seems to have a lot of positive reviews and interesting features.

Gave Book of Demons a try. Controls seem really awful for a game where precise controls are important.

Like, it's basically a precision/speed clicking game disguised as a real time rogue like?

gameplay is a bit weird, especially when ranged enemies start to appear and because you're on rail you can go left/right, you either move forward or backward, so sometime you don't get hit or you get hit "just because".
The attack range is another weird stuff, your starting class is melee-only apparently but his attack can go very far and you can hit way beyond what feels to you is melee distance, fortunately it seems you can hold your mouse click on your target instead of click/click/click at it to attack fast.

Same for the enemies, some can start to melee attack you without being in what you think is melee distance.

Now the "flexiscope" that you unlock once you get through the 1st couple of depth (and +/- where you unlock the 2 other classes) is a great idea to tailor a level to how much free time you have in your hand.
But it seems the game will be very repetitive after a while, maybe the deck building stuff comes into play better later ?

a bit less than 3 days left to claim the game named "Hammerting" on gog
it's a dwarven colony building (it feels like a clone of the oldie "Diggles" ) but reviews are mentionning the devs abandonned the game before it could live up to its potential at some point.

It's a nice game with some good potential, a bit of a clone of old Diggles for those that remember it, it's in the same genre as "Craft the World", "Oxygen not Included".
Great for free, but when not free due to its state with bugs not fixed, performance issues and some features being shallower than they were supposed to be, better go for something else on the same game genre that is finished and polished.

for the reason it was left in that state, from a reddit post quoting some dev discord :
Quote
From our point of view, we released the game into EA in Oct '20 and then made a patch/update for it almost every month until March '22. The full release is just a "blip in time" when we think we had delivered what we promised when going into EA. But the reality of it is that we had no income generated from the game at all during that period, but tried to make things work by having part of the team consulting for other companies. As most of the team also have families, this was not something that was sustainable. And this period also excludes the period where we created the prototype for the game, where we again, had no salaries. So all in all, I think that I've worked maybe 3-4 years unpaid on this project?

So while it's easy to say "abandoned after 6 months" - the reality behind it is very much something else.
