Hawkeye builds are heavy. It is slow to maneuver. But it hits like a truck.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Are there large enemies vehicles in the game ?

I'm still very early in the campaign (haven't touched the sandbox yet) and so far while my super impractical mobile fortress is getting bigger and bigger (and even less practical , damn hills and trees:D) after using destroyed enemy parts, i only still see small enemy vehicles attacking my position.

today's freebie on the epic store had been previously given several years ago, but still a very good game : "Kingdom Come: Deliverance"
their store servers are under assault as i imagine a lot of people have missed it when it was first given so don't be surprised if epic store is knocked out for a couple of hours

I have not seen things the size of what I just built there yet, but there's some decently large GeoCorp vehicles out there. I haven't maxed the other races yet, it is possible that when you do, larger and more dangerous vehicles will start spawning.

Theres's also invasions, when creations from other players drop in to attack you, which are fairly big. But I think those are size / cost capped.

I haven't touched athe sandbox yet either. I might for my next production base, create it there then load it in in game mode.

Did you get SCU storage device yet? That is the BIG game changer early game. Block vacuum cleaner.

Yay! I missed it last time it was on giveaway at Epic as each time I tried to access the store back then it jsut was not able to load due to all that traffic. Now it loaded just fine.

I often read Kingdom Come was a good game, but i had no idea it was that good : believable characters and story (as it follows some historical event and characters too) , atmosphere that is really spot on, dialogues well wrote without too much of the "they speak like current people" feel to them, interesting cast too.

Performance on my old system was rather bad when i started, but lowering settings enough reached a point it went smooth, sure it's less visually stunning (but still is as the engine is impressive) but i'm used to much worse so it does not detract from the visual immersion at all .
though the game could sure use some optimisation on the loading/unloading of stuff : i'm still early game and i had a lot of  gameplay interrupted by a loading time that will then launch a video cutscene, then once video cutscene is done another loading time to get back to gameplay, a bit annoying (especially when you get killed and the save is before a cutscene)

The targetting "lock" system is a bit janky though, but i really like how that character, currently a young man, you're controlling is not some sword master terminator once you learn how to play and you really want to avoid to fight actually trained enemies (trying to play the hero during the early game *spoiler* event will get you killed ... as expected)

But once you start to get a bit of training, it was such a good satisfying time to slay those bandits that were stealing on the many corpses around when you travel back to your village for *spoiler*  ... so you can steal in their place :D
oh and that damned Zbyshek little shit , i hope i'll find him later , there's hell to pay .

heavily recommended if you like medieval historical settings.

I tried to play it long time ago but my system was crappy then. However, I went ahead to explore some initial parts anyway. Somehow I got the impression that you either side with lord X or lord Y. "Don't you dare insult" X, Y or whatever in the village dialogue. I get that there might be some loyalty among the middle strata to some local lord, and that marching on their castles to proclaim a peasants republic might be ahistoric since those ideas weren't easy to think up and act upon in that context, but if that isn't viable at least not be forced into supporting one aristocrat over another willingly. Is that where the campaign takes you?

I 'm not sure what game you've been playing, as so far the story is nothing like that at all :D

Oh I meant that that's what I want to do. But that it seems like I'm lead into some pro-lord stuff.

Black Desert is free as in unlocked and not a trial period until the 6th on Steam. I don't know anything about it; it looks like it's an MMO of some sort.

EDIT: From the gameplay trailer it looks like it plays like a faster paced and more mobile Dungeons and Dragons Online. Sorry that the comparison is a so dated, I haven't played most of the new ones.

Black Desert made waves upon release because of the very detailed character creator it had, which I think has since been overshadowed.

There's a Kingdom Come Delievance 2 coming soon, maybe you'll be able to do that.

But the first game is following your character life and actions in "roughly" (there are a few inaccuracies) following a historical period (and using characters that really existed, check the codex that tell their lives ) in some zone of the Kingdom of Bohemia around early 1400 instead of  "be a nobody serf then become the high magic emperor of anti-establishement" fantasy .

So you're just the son of a blacksmith  illiterate and with *spoiler origin* trying to survive in the middle of a situation of war and political power play from nobles that impact the live of their subjects that your character is.
Your character manage due to some circumstances in gaining some slight status above your own that your birth shouldn't have allowed you to reach (probably the most history inaccurate part of the game, though with the *spoiler origin* it become more understandable later) , early game some higher ranked soldier express how you shouldn't even be there.

But the game try to not deviate much from the  history of that area in that period of time, so if you're looking for a fully freeform medieval game that can deviate a lot from history, that's not this one. But if you can overlook the historical part that you don't like, it's really good and very atmospheric.

My mobile block maker works splendidly. An hour ago I had zero Erduian blocks.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

EDIT: it feeds my new factory. Same concept as last time. Excess refined resources are blockified. The previous one did not store araw resources, this one does (some block recipes require raw resources). All components set to permanent production. I am still feeding the beast to fill up it's inventories but the tier 4's are starting to fill up.

Oh nicely spotted , they haven't updated the full installer to the latest version (unlike what gog does usually) , but that 1.10 to 1.11 patch should do the trick.

edit : nope trying to apply the patch only result in "patch already applied"
It seems someone did some mixup when building those files between installer version and game version (a common problem with gog in which installer version often have a different number than the actual game version) , as the 1.10 to 1.11 is digitally signed in 2020 (same as the installer that install the game) , while the actual 1.11 patch was released in 2022)

You can see it too on the gogdb website :

Download added: Patch, Patch (1.10 to 1.11), Windows, en
Version 1.11, Size 4.2 MB   2020-03-20
meaning it's wrong as 1.11 was released in 2022

so no the game is really 1.10 and is missing the final update.

an update about the Vambrace: Cold Soul situation on gog
Today there's a new version of the game available, that finally include that 1.11 patch (though for some reason they called it 1.20 ) and so the game after a bit more than a couple of years finally received this final patch on gog too

Stellar Mess: The Princess Conundrum (Chapter 1) is free to keep on Steam.
It's some point and click adventure game in the style of the early Lucasarts games.
