how about an animal that poops out weapons?

really now go with the stronger stuff like rubbing lye on your foreheads

though this news of Bees makes me wonder are they vermin or could they be

Yeah there vermin so one could just create a jar full of them and toss them at enemies.

Unless it's changed and/or my memory's faulty all the vermin-related tags are creature-level, not caste-level.

The improvements via reaction is very nice.  Is it also possible to get the quality via reaction?  I'd like to have a soldier decked in masterwork adamantine armor and weapon, all menacing with spikes of masterful platinum, without having to exhaust several embark's worth of material to achieve that one master+master combo.

But the real question about the update is...

...Can we now produce creatures via reactions? Can we make eggs that hatch?

Without a creature to make them? (or a old style vermin reaction to make the egg?)
...

Unless a new token if found or a old one with a new use?

EDIT:  First product makes a generic "egg" that does not seem to respect material.

Does not make an egg.

Someone should make the fort version of the [PRODUCT:100:1:EGG:CREATURE:BIRD_CHICKEN:CREATURE_MAT:BIRD_CHICKEN:EGGSHELL] reaction and find out if it can be hatched.  I can't right now.

FINAL EDIT:  Toady at one point suggested that eggs wouldn't hatch unless they were in an egg box-thing (it came up when discussing egg laying intelligent creatures), so you may have to figure out the token for these boxes and see if you can create an egg in a box.

made a bee reaction and found out they won't sting you if you hold on to them or dropping them for that matter. still wish to know the production code for Eggs to start testing chances of breeding Companions.

I've not tested it yet, but isn't an egg-box similar to a cage?  Can you designate an egg box as a reagent, and use product_to_container to place the egg within the box?

Makes a "dwarf egg" by the way.  Dwarves weren't modded to lay eggs.  Someone please test this one and the chicken egg version, to see if they hatch!  I have to go to work now.

well that depends on if Time still moves in Adventure mode and if so this still means someone has to spend hours of gameplay either mashing the sleep button for 24 hours ingame to reach a full year for this to work or not.

In the creature_standard.txt file, I gave Dwarves the [BODY_DETAIL_PLAN:EGG_MATERIALS] tag, and under the female caste replaced the [MULTIPLE_LITTER_RARE] tag with:
