Nest Boxes?

Where do I make nest boxes? Is there some reason why I would not be able to make them?

No I mean I can't produce them. Like I have none. When I try to build one it says needs nest boxes. But I can't find them in any of the workshop menus.

Try ordering one through the manager.
I'm pretty sure they're made in a craftsdwarf's shop.

You can make one out of rock at the craftdwarf's workshop.

Rock-> nest box

Craft workshop for rock and wood, kiln for clay, glass furnace for glass, and forge for metal (under other items). Same for hives, jugs, and pots.

Nest boxes killed my fort when the saltwater crocodiles came in droves because they suddenly wanted to 'nest'.

Crap. The crocs moved into my fort too... Ate a few dwarfs and hang around my duck houses.

edit. they are also laying eggs and show no intentions to leave... Time for some cage traps it seems.

My fort has been plagued by droves of wild blue peahens. They've killed all of my ducks! They're quite vicious actually, and have managed to give my unarmed and unarmored militiamen a number of injuries in their insatiable drive to lay their eggs in my nice nest boxes.
