Gentlemen, this isn't a bug at all! It's just like Cacame. It is actually the king of the mountain homes, who ran off when the last dwarven civ fell. I think we should call this forgotten beast Cacame's Mount, in honour.

So based on his description at least some forgotten beasts are cultured, artistic geniuses and masters of social interaction?  Sort of makes me feel hesitant to kill them, even if they're eyeless, lavender-feathered theropods.

Do you always look at it in ASCII?

You get used to it, I don't even see the ASCII.  All I see is blacksmith, miner, goblin.

World.sav by itself is completely useless - we need the entire regionX folder.

I bet you've got some "creature_foo.txt.[orig/bak/$$$/etc]" files in your raw folder, which are widely known to cause this exact behavior.

I'll check that, although I'm not sure exactly what it is...

Actually, Dwarf Fortress is known for drawing creatures from other races.

I remember that I had Dwarves modded to build cities in the ocean back in .16
I decided it would be cool to 'T'ravel there. Lag. Then suddenly I was a Cave Crocodile in the Caverns and I could still 'T'ravel.
I'm guessing that theres an ultralong creature list and if a creature is deleted the next one on the list gets pushed into its place.
However, Adventurers may have the creature id saved and thus load the creature that was pushed into this spot.

So yeah, its probably the same with Fortress Mode.

Cacame wasn't a bug at all, it's simply the end result of a non-dwarf rising to power in a dwarven civ during history. The exact same thing can happen with humans, or any other friendly civ.

Your farm plot isn't set to grow anything in spring.

EDIT: and there's a ghost slowing everything down.

Don't forget the three tails on that lavender-feathered, eyeless, musical genius. :D

And I agree, this definitely calls for checking the Legends Mode history for information about him and what he did before be became a member of your happy fortress. (At least, I know I'd be happy if a forgotten beast was in charge of defending my fortress against invaders. :D)

It was set to fertilize in the spring when I reclaimed it, I had some actual potash dwarves
working before the reclamation. Also the craftdwarf ghost is an ass, if you can I'd suggest destroying
his grave, he went insane and with zero skill killed four recruits.

The world.sav is
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21996638/world.sav

World.sav by itself is completely useless - we need the entire regionX folder.

To inspect the raw files he used, yes. You can replace the world.sav in a generated pocket world with the .sav that he provided, in order to load his game. This may cause unexpected results somewhere.

Bugs, mods or no, this guy is even more awesome than the ogre mayor someone had a while back.

I for one welcome our new Forgotten Beast overlord!

Anyone else notice that our new overlord was born in year 8? I thought forgotten beasts were generated before worldgen got to history.

...is it a result of night creature attacks, maybe?

There are many issues with this statement.
