As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

Derm would be a Half-Minute Hero boss. YOU HAVE 30 SECONDS TO FUCK HIM UP OR HE DOES IT TO THE ENTIRE WORLD!

Here's what I used.

NPC's of course, just get a damage roll, and it's more of "what do I feel like at the time"

Spoiler: To hit (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Damage (click to show/hide)
My games usually have a lot of modifiers, so I keep it pretty fluid.

Attacker's roll - defender's roll = damage dealt. If the defender rolls higher than the attacker, subtract one and they counter for that much damage.

Attacker's Roll a 5 gives a penalty to dodge: 6 makes it crit if it hits
Parry/Block: if they have soemthing to parry or block with, they get a roll to beat the attack roll
Dodge: if parry/block fails or does not happen, roll a 4, 5 or 6 not to get hit, 6 makes you do something stupid though: 1 makes the hit a crit
Damage: Roll and scale the weapon's damage, a 6 is a crit a 1 makes it a glancing blow
Armour: If the victim is wearing the apropriate armour, roll to see how effective it is

However I have relitive damage/armour values for everything n my game which is a little more complicated

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!
