Attribute Maximums?

Are there maximum limits to your attributes now?

I played a demi-god who rose to superhumanly levels, but after wrestling a zombie chicken on a mere Hero for three straight days my attributes seem to have stopped growing at Superior (my speed isn't increasing anymore).

What dictates attribute limits if anything?

There have always been attribute limits, the limits are:

No stat can ever climb to more than twice it's starting value unless the creature you're playing has an exception in the RAWS (although you will not know exactly what it's starting value it in adventure mode unless using something like runesmith).

No stat can ever climb above 5000, this is a hardcoded max and even putting 10000 or 20000 in the raws has no effect.

From an adventurers perspective though the max a stat can reach is usually super(whatever)ly strong/agile/ETC but they can take AGES to go up to that sometimes.

My human adventurer just recently ticked up into Superhuman Strength and Agility, so you certainly can advance to those stat levels in some cases - but I did start fairly high in both of those to begin with, so if stats are limited to doubling those may be the only ones that do for me. <shrug>

So...what do the initial stat levels (high, superior, above average, etc.) correspond to numerically?  If the thing about attributes being capped at 2x their maximum is true, then I want to make sure my adventurer has high enough stats to be able to reach the max of 5000 in as many of them as possible.

They don't correspond to anything numerically - the stat ranges that Evil One's talking about seem to concern the base values, not the actual values. A creature with 1000 base strength would be average at that and superfooly strong at 2000, just as a creature with 5000 base strength would be superfooly strong at 10000.

Nobody seems to know the default attribute ranges, and nobody quite understands the way Adventurer mode handles attributes (are adventurers based on the racial average? Are they somewhat random like genned creatures? Is there some other randomisation going on?).

The ranges are something like this:

0:0:0:0:0:0:0]                                   MIN
0:100:200:300:400:450:500]                ---
0:400:600:750:800:900:1100]                --
150:600:800:900:1000:1100:1500]           -
300:750:900:1000:1100:1350:1800]     AVG
450:950:1150:1250:1350:1550:2250]      +
700:1200:1400:1500:1600:1800:2500]    ++
1250:1500:1750:2000:2500:3000:5000]  +++
5000:5000:5000:5000:5000:5000:5000]  MAX

Elves by default get a MAX value for their Memory stat, presumably to go with their ageless bodies.  Creatures that get set at a Max stat do not display this attribute in their stat screen, since there is no reason to compare themselves to each other.  Races that do not have a specified range for an attribute most likely default to the Average range.

In adventure mode of game version 0.31.25, after extensive exercising of my attributes with macros using several starting characters, the best I can figure is that any character is limited to an attribute rank three levels higher than what that character started with. At most, you can improve a stat by three ranks.

Of course, the ranks are:

super<race>
superior
high
above average
average
low
very low

So if I started with "very low," the best I was ever able to become was "above average." If I started as "average," the best I could achieve was "superior," and so on. Often, attribute increase is progressing quite steadily as it reaches this maximum, after which improvement ceases rather abruptly (after as little as two and a half straight game days of nothing but exercise).

If you look at the numbers in the previous post, this is a different result than would be the case if attributes were capped at twice their initial value at character generation. Perhaps this discrepancy is due to differing release versions; I don't know.

So can anyone work out the best demigod arrangement of stats to make an elf/dwarf/human reach maximum possible (and beneficial, so not superfluously high) agility, strength and toughness? I'd assume based on that then that you'd want to put all three up to superior to start with so you could reach above superxingly agile level.
