I've recently developed an obsession with the caste system. I'm in the process of making a world inhabited by dwarves who all belong to castes based on norse gods and heroes. I've deleted the original "other" civilizations and are making civilizations based on the 9 worlds of norse mythology, along with Muspell and ginnungagap (which is basically gonna be warhammer chaos bands). still deciding whether my playable dwarves are gonna be aesir, nidavellir dwarves, or possibly just a separate faction entirely.

Imagine the will it took to create a fortress like this. And what have you elves built? Nothing. You can only loot and break. You're not dwarves!! You're just termites at Versailles.

It's not that I don't suffer, it's that I know the unimportance of suffering, I know that pain is to be fought and thrown aside, not to be accepted as part of one's soul and as a permanent scar across one's view of existence.

You do realize that dwarves in Norse mythology were actually a kind of elf, right?

He's right you know. And they were not nice. Well, except those ones that hold up the sky or forge people and stuff.

attempting to make my mega beast have night creature abducting abilities resulted in her captives turning into megabeasts but without a body transformation. So I got 3 encounters with " THE DEADLY HUMAN BOB HAS ARRIVED!!"

Made an alchemist workshop that takes some adamantine to make more standard metals.  For those folks that feel adamantine is a little bit too strong to use directly, but still want a use of it.

I decided to make reactions that don't use up some adamantine as a catalyst as well and put a minor little downside to that if folks decide to try to do it that way...

Muahaha.

I just imagine some half melted lovecraftian maddened dwarf that learned what mortals were not meant to learn, chasing dwarves around the fortress with super speed and strength because the player got a tad greedy.

Reminds me of a particular SCP... Not the explodey parts, but the lovecraftian results...

Give it one big 'armor' body part made of some metal, maybe with some functional protrusions, and make everything else internal

Red cheese?

Oddly enough, the default color of cheese is red.
Now no more questions or you shall burn in cheese hell!

How's this: I'm going to try to mod in 40k plasma guns, using battery stacks to represent ammo consumption (THough the flying plasma batteries will cause many a laugh if I get it working.)

And damn it if I could I'd make flamers for regular DF that used the firebreathing attack- I GOT IT I'LL CALL THEM FIRE JETS AND MODD IN SOMETHING THAT IS SUPER HOT FOR AMMO

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

for the daleks the metal should be dalekanium. You could also mod in some sought of energy sheild tissue layer.
