How many people here are proficient in the use of MIDI to make music?

Just wondering if anyone would like to contribute music to Pokemon Orthoclase and Microcline - we haven't got a musician yet besides ExKirby.

I need a new power cable for my midi controller, and I'm moving to cali any day now,  Maybe once I get settled out there I can maybe contribute.

Not really proficient with MIDI, and I don't have a MIDI Controller (being poor while having dreams of being a musician sucks), but FL Studio has an 'Export to MIDI' option in it.

With that being said, lacking inspiration of making music is another story, but I might be able to contribute.

First off though, what are good dedicated MIDI music making programs available for free?

I love making MIDIs. What kind of music do you need, Reudh?

Head on over to the Pokemon Orthoclase thread and we can float some ideas.

Ideally we would love some Pokemon-y and DF-y sounding battle themes, and later on if you want some overworld themes.

I'm going to re-listen to Leech Battle again to get an idea of what your sound is like. :D

That one's a bit unfinished, I'd recommend listening to Relaxical Leeches to get a better feel for my sound.

(And that game flopped, so just ask and I'll let you use any of that music you like.)

Old link is broken.

I like it. Relaxical Leeches definitely sounds like a peaceful overworld town sort of theme. :D

http://tindeck.com/listen/qtpi The first thing I've done in a while.

Pros: I made it so that I don't hate the sound of my own voice.

Cons: I fucked up so many other things. ._.;

Posting to follow =)

Adequate Guitarist(Rusty), Novice Pianist(Rusty), and I haven't touched a violin or flute in a decade.

My strengths are lyrics and composing, though I sing for fun. Haven't been singing seriously in a few years, so I'm a bit shaky.

All in all, I look forward to check out what Bay12 has to offer! =)

Reviving this thread.

Recorded this sloppy improv earlier. The piano is a bit out of tune, try to ignore that.

Also, my friend came over last week. Silliness ensued.

There's a few other songs/videos on my channel that I've recorded at some point: An ambient guitar piece and an indie/i-have-actually-no-idea-what-genre-this-is song.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey, necro from page 6!

Anyways, I've found that I now have some more time on my hands and I want to take up piano. The problem is that although i have a few hours of free time now I'm not really sure I want an instructor, so, as such, I've been thinking about teaching my self piano (well on a keyboard) and I'm not sure where to start, I've searched around a little bit (and i've a large supply of batteries for my keyboard) but I'm not really sure where to start. So, my question is, how should I approach this? (Should I even approach it at all?) and can anyone recommend some good lesson books?

I haven't really played piano for a couple of years, but I'm pretty aware of the habits I should be avoiding, and I did briefly take it up in middle school.

I've recently begun dabbling in some concept-stuff about robots. This is just a piece about the everyday life of a robot of Robotia
Buubdurub - The Age of Robots
I suppose it's some kind of ambient, not sure though
