How many of those can people actually recommend?

Where the Water Tastes Like Wine is a pretty interesting meandering trek across an old America, if you want something that's more... slow and folk tale-y. It's an interesting work, but ended up a pretty huge commercial failure. And seriously annoyed some Steam players.

Originally, there was an unobtainable achievement-- there is no place where the water tastes like wine; it's an unreachable goal... much like the achievement.

(Addition: Though, unfortunately for artistic vision, it was removed for the X-Box version. Evidently, they have a policy against unobtainable achievements?)

I think the consensus is Watchdogs (Watch Dogs? Watch_DOGS?) wasn't very good, but anyway it's free in Epic Store for now.

That's an amazing achievement, and sells a premise (I assume the same one as the game has, but haven't played). Pissing off people who care too much about Steam just makes it better for me.

Tyrian's a fantastic SHMUP; I'd say it's probably one of the finest of its genre. And it has hot dogs and bananas.

...And I'm not sure which one it is was, but one of the Sunriders was kind of famous for being so brutally difficulty at high difficulties that the dev was unsure if it was even technically possible to finish.

Free games thread is stickied, which makes it easier to find only if you know to look for a different-colored thread above the others. Plus, people seem okay with one-offs showing up here instead.

WASTED is on sale for about $2.59 USD or so on Steam.

It can also be purchased in a bundle with Super House of Dead Ninjas for $3.18 USD.

I find both games are pretty fun - one's about side-scrolling platforming action, and the other's a FPS dungeon crawler that takes a bunch of elements from Fallout 3 and New Vegas, from the random junk scattered about (here you can throw it for use as a distraction or weapon) to the looting system to the backstory (very similar to Fallout's, but the lore is considerably crasser in tone).

I'd recommend both of them for the price.
