I might decide to go for more later, but so far the only game I've picked up is Slipways. I played a the demo of it early, and thought it was a fun little strategy puzzle game, and, at 30% off, it's a decent enough discount for a game that wasn't that expensive to begin with.

Otherwise, I'm kind of feeling the weight of my backlog, don't feel like picking up stuff I might not play for at least a year when there's a chance it could be discounted even more in the future and/or I could put that money to other use in the meantime.

Sales wise I finally picked up monster train, then a handful of little things (Xenoraptor -- actually pretty legit twinstick arena shooter thing... if you take cheat engine to it and slow the thing down to about 25% -- flamebreak, a cheapo arena twinstick with a slay the spire-ish exploration portion, and kingsway, a neat little operating system-styled RPG), and bought and fairly quickly refunded Star Traders: Frontiers (it looks fine, but I found out about something not on sale* I'm going to buy at full price as soon as the refund clears).

*Symphony of War, an overall Fire Emblem style game... just hybridized with a mostly Ogre Battle combat layer. I.e something I've basically been waiting my entire adult life for, even if I'm pretty skeptical about parts of it (mostly the FE elements... and that it's an RPGmaker game, 'cause I've never met one of those I didn't fairly quickly drop pretty emphatically). I'm pretty sure I've said it somewhere or another, but a heavy Ogre Battle homage in currentyear is pretty close to the only thing in existence that will get me to pay full price for a game these days, and, welp.

SoW kinda looked to me like the old Sega Genesis game Warsong, and the name kinda points that way too. FWIW.

I'unno, Warsong's(/Langrisser's) stuff is pretty different from what I've seen of vids (haven't bought it, yet, but soon), and from what I've seen of stats and whatnot SoW is way more Fire Emblem than Warsong... basically all the design I've seen so far that's not Ogre Battle leans Fire Emblem instead of Langrisser, really (which is arguably disappointing, 'cause I actually enjoyed playing the Langrisser stuff I've played more than the FE, heh). Map aesthetics and design, character interactions, just... all of it has struck me very much as later age (GBA and beyond, basically) FE more than anything Langrisser.

Only thing I've sorta' seen from SoW that points Langrisser way is maybe the kinda' thirsty character sprites, if you squint at it a bit. Not sure if SoW is quite the literally-hired-a-porn-artist tier that Langrisser was, though, ha.

I'd totes be down for someone to run with more Langrisser design for another Ogre Battle homage, though. I'm... not quite sure how it'd work -- Langrisser's combat was pretty unique in some ways both then and now, and the rest of the design was decently distinct from FE -- but you wouldn't see me saying someone shouldn't give it a try. i mean, you wouldn't see me saying to stop doing anything that looked like ogre battle, so, y'know :V

I'm looking at dropping about a hundo for Sekiro, everything Dishonored, everything The Binding of Isaac, and maybe RAFT to play with family.

Doesn't seem to get as much mileage as I'd hope out of the dollaridoos, but I'd only spend about this much on a sale once or twice a year. On the bright side, half of the selection looks like it won't rot in backlog for years, so.

I'm REALLY looking forward to Rune Factory 5. Hope it's worth the anticipation!

Looks like Square-Enix have decided to step up and fill the gap left by Rune Factory's long-delayed and generally disappointing sequel.

Harvestella

It's coming out this year!

That doesn't look like a cross between Rune Factory, Stardew, and Shepherd's Crossing. We'll see what happens.. Not holding much hope for squenix.

itch bundle for abortion rights is out , there are a couple of extra days until the game nomination closed, but for now hypnospace outlaw is in the bundle, so there is something interesting there already.

Jupiter Moons: Mecha is on there, too... neat aesthetic card battler thing. Enough I'll probably grab the bundle.

... but seriously, if I ever actually get into playing PnP or tabletop, I'm going to have access to more rulesets than god. Part of me idly considers starting some kind of "ttrpg a week" thread or somethin'. You get one or two of these bundles and you'll have fodder for something like that that would last decades.

Sadly, it's only the demo.

Also, yeah, If you could convince someone to play any PnP or tabletop, you could convince them to play something from one of those bundles, my main issue is that playing on the forum is slow

Who puts a demo in a bundle? Isn't it already free to begin with?

Yeah, there usually is a bunch of filler in those bundles

I haven't been disappointed with the last two big charity bundles I got from itch.io, and will probably pick this up even though there'll be more than a little overlap with them, but yeah, when you're looking at 600-1200 item bundles, there's a lot of chaff in with the wheat.

There's always Discord. I had some really nice experiences recently, you can have dice rolling bots, session reminding bots and speech (if you're into that.) We used Owlbear Rodeo for maps.
