Dead Rising 2: Worth $10?

You wade through the dead, avoiding them all the way to fetch quests. That's all I remember.

Dead Rising 2 is hilarious. I'd say it's money well spent.

And if you're feeling specially nasty, find some sort of time limit remover cheat to be able to slaughter zombies all day :P

More clothing customization than GTA:SA and Barbie Fashion Dress-Up put together. And shattering baddies that you froze with a cryo bomb made from a propane tank and a fire extinguisher, with a power guitar is awesome.

And Microsoft gave it and Case Zero away for free to basically everyone with XBox Live Gold who was paying attention and had a hard drive in their XBox 360 in August. Of course, that doesn't make it not worth spending money on now.

It's interesting, despite being Yet Another Zombie Game.

It was interesting, but i have some kind of phobia against Timed games, i like to take my time and check everything, play at my own speed, timed games and escort the little lady while we shoot at her are both the worsts ideas in gaming IMO.

Yeah, same here, so using CheatEngine to stop the clock altogether made the game more enjoyable for me (just unpause when you want the story to continue).

Then my CheatEngine expired and couldn't seem to find a good free alternative :P

Have you looked into Cheat Engine as a free alternative to the free software that is Cheat Engine...  ???

I think you got scammed.

Orrrrr, it might be their sick April fool's joke.

Tell me, did it expire on April 1st and ask for $1800 a year?

DR2 uses GFWL, which is almost certainly getting shut down next year. DR2 also uses the zero-day anti piracy "feature", which means it needs to check in with GFWL when you install it.

Neither capcom nor MS has said anything about patching games to work without GFWL, so there's a good chance you won't be able to install it (and possibly not even even play it if it is installed) after July next year.

Something to consider anyway.

Hm, GFWL is a turn-off. I was completely unable to play Dark Souls because of that (nothing I do seems to make my save files continue to exist after I close the game whether GWFL is online or offline).

The big deals change every day, yes? If you want the best possible deal you should wait to see if it goes on daily, and get it then.

(ALSO: F*you Capcom for putting on sale SSFIV and not letting me buy it).
I should point out this game is on sale precisely because Capcom is releasing a new version next year and want to get what they can out of the old one first.

Try using something like artmoney to manipulate game data like cheatengine does. It involves quite a bit more work, but it is free.

Anyone familiar with Salvation Prophecy? (It's not really a sale per se because it only released Monday, but 25% off "special offer.")

It bills itself as a strange mix of FPS/RPG/Adventure/Space Sim/Strategy. There's FPS in ground assault, RPG elements in terms of skilling up and upgrading your ship, adventure and space sim in exploring, and some strategy elements.

That's a lot of stuff and I've given a cursory look at the forums and it was surprisingly not very caustic, as is so often the case on steam forums. Still, I've glimpsed at a few legitimate concerns, such as "limited" art assets and variety, which could probably be attributed to it being an independent title rather than publisher-backed.

.

Also, any opinions on Divinity: Dragon Commander? I like the idea of an RTS where your avatar can actively participate, rather than a disembodied finger that can actively poke at things from the nether. However, although Divinity 2: Ego Draconis had promise (think of a Bethesda/TES game where you can theoretically become a dragon yourself), its execution was absurdly lacking (very on-rails, areas were clearly demarcated into zones and glass walls abound), so I don't have high hopes for a polished game in Dragon Commander.

I looked at Salvation Prophecy. Seems like a game that is very confused about what kind of game it really is.

Dragon Commander is supposed to be a fun romp. Never grabbed it myself by a friend of mine said it was enjoyable if you like RTS style games.

I think you got scammed.

I might be getting it confused with some other cheat program that I used to inject code into Recettear to always default to perfect prices... all I remember is that it worked fine for about a month then it sorta died saying that the evaluation period had expired or something.

EDIT: Yeah it seems it was an april fools joke. It's not like I had actually read "open source" anywhere tho. Also I didn't even notice the "price" at the moment.

EDIT2: Looking at the screens, I'm not even sure it was this one. It may have been a commercial trialware, pretty sure the price wasn't something outrageous, something like "$49 for full version".
