Beyond the Black Pyramid
I might be a li'l drunk, but the intro to this track seemed absolutely phenomenal. Otherwise it probably isn't my favourite song of theirs, but the intro... phoah.

Actually I only plan on getting more drunk from here on in, so I guess y'all should probably brace yourselves for more music recommendations now that I've set a precedent with this one. Probably a wide and bizarre variety of genres and styles, but who can say?

Edit: Bad Trip Exorcism
A full album of crunchy, instrumental doom/stoner-y goodness.

Really enjoying this guy's 16-bit tracks:

https://opengameart.org/users/trevor-lentz

Tonally it hits a few different areas, but I'd say the majority of it seems inspired by SNES level music. Good stuff.

My fave jazz band released a new album recently!
Always a treat when they do that. This a feast for the earholes. Also I forgot to sleep and I need to go get more brain-regulatory pills and this is perfect music to space out to. ^-^

Here's a sentence I never thought I'd type:
Nishaiar is an Ethiopian atmospheric post-black metal band and they're pretty goddamn good

I'm only three minutes in so it might be a bit early to make a call, but I'm really really digging this. I'm bad at classifying metal - would Atoma also be considered APBM? They have a very similar sound.

I love atmospheric black metal, but the "post-" in there makes me hesitant to check it out. :-\
On a related note, though, Hope Drone recently announced a new album dropping in August! Here's their last album.

Myself, I'm currently listening to Gravehill's new album, but that would most likely be a better fit for the Heavy Metal thread, wherever it is...

Tbh I'm kind of the same, in this case I just copied the video blurb on what the band are. I'd personally just put them in the kinda dark post-rock/metal category since it's such a vague and nebulous concept.

IMO it's worth a listen if you haven't check it out already. The sound is just a tad more "light-hearted" than usual for atmospheric black. Overall I enjoyed listening through it earlier in the morning.

Arlo McKinley & the Lonesome Sound - I've Got Her.
If you're the type to gain catharsis from devastatingly sad music, I highly recommend this fella when you're feeling down. I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favourite tune from him, but this is his top track on Spotify so I suppose it's as good a place as any to start.

Oh yeah, I really should. Looks like I'm sinking into an Arlo binge right now, but I'll be sure to chuck that on my to-do list.

Love Simon Swerver. First introduced to his stuff via Soundsense, the DF mod. Great folksy sounding stuff with catchy, energetic beats.

I've drunkenly cheered The Tankard Basher more times than I could count.

Simon Swerwer is a brilliant musician, and I love his works.
L-listening even now, and having a hard time not cheering along.

... Danger Room:
"Likot stared at the open gateway, and then the closed gate across the sand. Something green and vicious moved in the dark behind the bars. He was no longer afraid. His time had come, and they are all watching. The Crowskulls had just finished a song upstairs and he could hear the mayor call to the leverboys. Everyone was riled up now..."

Urrghh, I just love guitar feedback. Like, the discordant, ear-splitting, intentional kind favoured by sludge or crust bands.

Edit: oh my gosh, on an entirely different note I have just discovered (at the end of a sizable spree of enriching musical discoveries!) The Teskey Brothers. Here's their album, Half Mile Harvest. I cannot stress enough how special this is. A bloody semi-local band, too!
If you have even a shred of a soul within you this'll thrill ya to bits. Metaphorically - you probably won't actually disintegrate. I think.
