It's the special music for winning a race in X-Piratez~
Old pinball tune.  And it shows, so cheesy!

This one didn't want to be who they was. On the Surface – it was a dull, unconsidered sadness. But everything changed. Which implied everything could change.

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit - If We Were Vampires

This riff has taken up residence in my brain. Stop it, riff. My brain isn't zoned for this kind of population. There's barely enough room for me to live in here, and then you come in here with your patterned luggage and your lattes? That's illegal.

Also definitely a band/song that used the Wikipedia/Wikiquote "Find your band" convention of naming.

Can anyone hit me with some recommendations? I'm looking for non-country and non-tropical themed steel guitar music. The more it breaks out of the typical genres it's in the better.

Extra Gold - I Can't Help But Cry
If y'all don't listen to this, I won't be able to help but cry.

Ew.

Wait, does The Ballad of Curtis Loew count as country? If not maybe that could work. Listen to it either way and it will change your life, if you somehow, tragically haven't heard it already.

Not entirely dissimilar - A soothing lead guitar, special voice and lyric - Through The Dark

The old cayote howlin style, crying-over-her-always kind of songs have made me wince since I was little, but somehow that Extra Gold has me oooooin along in a daydream.

Soviet snythpop is a thing apparently and it's pretty nice

Holy shit, I was not prepared for this much 80s. I love the dude in the back with the 'stache, and the lead with the 1000 yard stare.

That is some grade A morning coffee music material. Also I want all those shirts they have, they're brilliant.

Unrelated reminder that TNG was a very musical show
