I gained that song from the X-Piratez dev, and it is, mm, very good!  The log twirling, like juggling.  I love the energy SO MUCH.  It gives me strength, ha, to do the things I must do!

HA!  Yes <3
A very hearty song, a song to inspire the hopeless.
Mmnhph.

Edit:  I have no idea what any of the words are, I rely on the music video for context.

The Shaggs - Philosophy of The World

Best album. My YT app actually crashed playing this, and it usually does this on C64 demos with good music, so it has to be on the same level as those. I quite enjoy the "trains continually crashing into a trainwreck that's increasing in size" aesthetic with this one. I return to this one occasionally, but it's always a great listen when I do. (Does ironically "great" music count for this thread? It's one of the classical examples of bad/ironically-listened-to music, and I'm surprised no-one's discussed this one at all in the entire history of Bay12.)

I love how it's constantly slightly off-cadence.  A lovely example of "indie music" from my college but with that twist.  A new experience for me, thanks!

Why do I do the things I do?

So, like. There's this thing Cab Calloway did as a musician I don't think I've seen much/at all outside of him, and I'm wondering if any of y'all know of folks that have done the same thing?

Specifically, the dude had reoccurring characters, references to/focus on established critters found in several songs, namely Minnie the Moocher and Smokey Joe -- just off the top of my head, I can think of four (Minnie the Moocher, Kicking the Gong Around, Lady with a Fan, and Ghost of Smokey Joe), and I'm fairly sure there's at least a couple more I'm not immediately recalling.

And, like. I can think of a few other cases where a band or performer made a one off or small reference to another song, but I can't recall any that did, well. That. Where there's approaching a half-dozen or more pieces that specifically and substantially reference persistent characters. It'd be neat to hear of more, heh.

Do concept albums count? Because then there are lots :P

Other than that, he's never explicitly named in the music but a lot of Orden Ogan's songs are about an undead guy wandering through "life" getting in trouble and accidentally ruining everything he touches. I know there are other metal bands that have recurring characters/objects as well, but I can't put my finger on any right now.

Three songs from the same C64 demo (Vicious SID 2 by The Noisy Bunch, CSDb). The whole thing's basically just an audio tech demo that pulls off nothing short of wizardry on a SID chip. There's 15 songs featured, so I'm just picking the ones I like most. No YT videos exist for the individual songs. These are DeepSID links.

Church of 64 by SounDemoN (CSDb)
Vicious SID 2 - Escos
by SounDemoN (CSDb)
Vicious SID 2 - 1st Loader by SounDemoN (CSDb)

Yes, all my favorites are from the same guy. There's other people on that production; it's not a "me, myself and I" situation with The Noisy Bunch.
