Good luck to you guys, I always wanted to kick PTMC's ass but SoH is too time consuming for me right now.
I had to play the whole days to keep things going and yet I wasn't able to get everything going for Starborn Dominion when the empire got big due to lag and then less and less time to play..

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.

PTMC still pushing everyone around?

Anyway I stopped playing a while ago. Real life kept cutting in. Still got all my awesome ship designs on my character though(and all the not-so-awesome ones).

Tryed playing this a few times on different computers. It rebeled against the graphics cards in about 3 computers and 1 of them was getting into the overly-over-the-top specs as well. Not sure if I just have bad luck or it has a problem with some graphics cards.

I'd be up for going at SoH again, so long as we do it in our own empire again, and actually have one big one for all B12ers

The game doesn't tolerate Intel graphics cards.  Too bad Intel graphics cards are the most common type...

Pretty sure an official statement said it requires openGL 1.1 (or 1.0 with some modification enabled), and graphics card companies just aren't very good about support for some reason or another.

Anyhow, join Tymas. Or more specifically, the borg.

Yes, and that official statement is wrong about it requiring only OpenGL 1.0/1.1.

(To be specific, I looked into what OpenGL functions Hazeron was actually using, and it is using functions from OpenGL 3.2 and 3.3. The most notable result of lacking 3.3 support but having 2.0 support is fairly blindingly obvious: You can't see the ground. (I am Trafalgar over there. You should be able to tell, I have the same avatar. :P))

Man, now I'm really hankering to play this game again. I'm certainly up for joining a potential new Starborn Reborn Dominion if other Bay12ers are up for it.
this would be nice. i guess. as long as it was a democracy/republic, not a dictatorship...

It won't work on anything that doesn't support OpenGL 3.3 or better.
that is exactly my problem, I wonder if Haxus and the gang will clean that up or not  :-\

Wouldn't call using new technology something to "clean up" - in this case, 'new' represents more useful, often better-implemented functions that speed things up for programmers, not the bad kind of arbitrary new that gets me mad. Took getting into the guts of OGRE to realize the new extensions are worth using.

Are you on a laptop? You can get an early GeForce 8 series card for under $40 now.

Did the PTMC just disappear from the empire listing page? If I remember correctly, that means they lost their capital, right? Also, Tymas seems to be the most powerful empire. Guess they're winning.

As for me, I think I'll set up a new empire for myself, because I like building from the ground up.

I might join you, Poltifar. Pretty much the only thing left to do in Tymas for me is fighting which I'm not especially good at. :P

I kind of like building up empires from the beginning for some reason.

Edit: And the PTMC is still there. They're the third on the list, after the Foundation and all it's members.
