Reading some of these kind of made me want to claw my eyes out, which is pretty much what I expect from the pick-up lines in the game. In short, they're great.

Exactly!

If they don't have this effect then they are terrible!

LCS isn't a game with GOOD pick up lines. They are lines that you expect someone to scream "rape" while running away... only to say something equally horrible to the extent that you expect your character to scream "Psychopath!" and run away.

Cooking: "Hey there, I could stuff you with cake back at my place."
Success: "Sounds good, let me bring some frosting."
Success: "Let's see if you can satisfy my appetites!"
Fail: "Uh, I'm on a diet right now."
Fail: "The cake is a lie."


Tailoring: "Will you be my dress-up doll?"
Success: "I'd prefer undressing."
Success: "As long as I don't have to wear fur."
Fail: "If you're going to make me wear one of those things, no!"
Fail (if wearing nothing): "You should try dressing yourself first."

Also, a general Fail:
<npc> reinforces/fastens <his/her/its> chastity belt.

EDIT: By the way, about the cooking one, we do have a pop-rock song about baking with fairly suggestive lyrics here in Finland. It's called "Matkalla Alabamaan" ("on road to Alabama") in case you want to listen to it.

Except shooting something down without offering alternatives is evil... so I'll try (ineptly) to come up with one.

"Looks like your going on a no sex diet" (UGH)

Hmm thati s also wordy... maybe "Your going on a no sex diet"

or possibly "I'd rather see you eat your words"

Hmm... maybe something to do with being rotten or past the expiration date. Or maybe just a pop reference like:
