Need some help with making magic based reactions

Is there anyway I can summon vermin? Im adding a vermin that attacks people sorta like a fleshseeking magic missile that dies upon contact with an enemy however whenever I try to summon it I instead get a "Small tamed animal"

also is there any way to use blood in reactions?
