The Don't Dig Up seed's proving quite interesting. You start on an island in hell with lava either side of it. Only lava slimes spawn on the island (And they don't drop lava when killed) but demons can spawn on either "ocean" (And they're still super deadly early on). Forest mobs spawn in the cavern layer just above hell, including critters. Also there's ash wood trees in hell, the pots drop stars, and you'll occasionally get a slim falling from the roof onto your house.

hunh.  Is it just a single seed, or more of an option to infinitely generate inverse worlds?  Slightly curious about how corruption is done too

I imagine the seed just procs it to randomly generate a world with that exact parameter. I generated a Master Difficulty world, and holy shit is everything just super deadly. Be very wary of minecart tracks, the world generation is a dick and puts poison dart traps wired up to kill anyone who dares cruise around on them.

It's just really interesting. Digging up is so much harder than digging down. They revamped ropes, so making smart usage of those is gonna be vital I think.

Speaking of ropes, they can now intersect platforms. You can make a rope elevator that has stops that don't look weird.

There are a number of "secret" seeds that do something contrary to the standard random gen - both types of corruption, bee structures everywhere, explosive bunnies, all the way to a pair of seeds that combine all the secret seeds on one world.

Worlds using this Everything seed also let you summon the laser titty boss.

There's a new liquid called Shimmer that can be found in caves. It has... interesting effects.

I'd recommend dipping items and NPCs into it. There's far too many effects to list.

Its a shame they still don't have a seed that guarantees all metals being from the same group so I don't have to gen a hundred thousand games to get the ones I want

Couldn't you bypass generating all those worlds and just use an extractinator instead? Provided you have enough silt, slush, or fossils, you can get adequate quantities of any basic metal you want.

Yeah, I saw everything it entailed in the wiki, and I was too scared of that. I imagine many dozens of deaths have to be spent for every single inch of progress.

Shimmer helps there. Chuck ore into it and it'll drop a tier, including the alternative ores (ie iron->tin->copper)

Of course, if you're wanting it for stat reasons then by the time you can get the ore you're already past it.

I've never gotten vert far (not good with bullet hell games so ik not able to proceed beyond the first few bosses) so I mostly just think in term of the early game and mining things

You got anyone to play it multiplayer with?

I'd host, but I can't be on 24/7, my internet's shit, if I get bored that'd just be the end of the server, and I don't want to spend money to host a dedicated server.

EDIT: Back at it with Don't Dig Up, the second layer (Hell being the first) is a giant glowing mushroom biome. I thought I'd just got lucky and had one directly above my base, but no. Seems to go from one end of the map to the other.

Third layer is a "forest" biome, which can get windy and rainy despite being underground. Regular mobs spawn here (zombies, slimes, eyes etc.) and there are a few trees scattered about.

Mimics spawn pre-hardmode and drop chest items. I've killed two and got shoe spikes and a magic mirror from them. They're still fairly tough and drop a good chunk of gold (44 gold from the two of them combined).

I found a magic dagger in a chest. Usually an amazing early hardmode item, it's debuffed severely. Lower RoF, lower damage, only pierces once.
