Gakruldus - Kobold camp succession!
« on: May 17, 2011, 12:15:20 pm »

Who would be interested in playing a kobold camp succession game in a rocky wasteland swampy beach?
Feel free to claim a kobold or a turn. I may make an attempt at some sort of story.

edit:
I've changed over to a tropical coastal swamp biome. There's still the challenge of aquifer and heat I guess. I forgot to get a picture of the embark screen... We can still be attacked by the other civs.

Rules:
Standard succession rules, 1 year turns, do whatever you want as long as you don't destroy the fort.

The original 7 Kobolds + Draknoiss + Alkhemia.

Kobolds can't mine through stone anyways. And aquifers aren't that bad in my (limited) KC experience.

Unless I'm mistaken, saves contain their own raws, so no.

I might sign up, but first I have to find my flash drive...I'll give you a heads-up on when that is.

Oh hey, people actually responded! Kobold camp is a seperate mod found here:

I'm starting to think a rocky wasteland without trees and an aquifer would be pretty much impossible. You guys could recommend me some biomes and I'll try to find a match? I was thinking we do a beach and a marsh/swamp maybe.

This is a picture of the embark area. Ocean to the right and swamp to the left.

Here's a bit of story I've come up with:

For centuries, our people have led secluded lives deep within the most remote bowels of our Earth. We've lurked in the abyssal chasms of the underworld since time immemorial. We have the combined strength to challenge even the most grotesque and mighty beasts the caverns can manage to spit out at us. We are... Kobolds!!! However, times are changing. Our travelers and explorers have ascended the depths and tell of a world drowned in light. They speak of great cities containing masses of wealth, of tangled forests, and of mountains harnessing lustrous jewels. We must travel to the surface world to establish a trading outpost. This is the story of that outpost... Gakruldus!

-----------

Well I'm feeling pretty corny about now, I'll start playing the game tonight right now perhaps.

Spring
Year 200

2nd of Granite (Diary of Svarte)
Just yesterday, I was selected by the elder council to lead an expedition to the fabled surface world. It's amazing to think we are the only kobolds ever to leave the caverns. After nearly a day of walking, we came to a great lake. This lake is peculiar in that it seems to go on infinitely, there's no land at the horizon. Our shaman took a reading of the cloud formations, Overcast skies and lightning on the horizon. He's not sure whether this is an omen or a blessing. He says Sraslonins voice cannot be heard outside the caverns...

Digging has begun:

14th of Granite

The stories from the explorers were true.... our miners have unearthed precious stones today while digging out a room for our food stocks.

20th of Granite
The Shaman believes we should honor Sraslonin with a set of totems on the beach. Hopefully this will please the God.

1st of Slate
Upon the completion of the totems, the skies above opened up and rain began to fall. Again, the Shaman is confused.
