Dungeons of Dredmor - Patch 1.1.2 is available
« on: May 24, 2011, 08:14:15 am »

Dungeons of Dredmor is a rogue-like, with gorgeous hand-drawn graphics. This game is available on Steam and Desura at the low price of ~4$. There are two available DLC. The first one, "Realm of the Diggle Gods", is available at the low price of 3$, whereas the 2nd one, "You Have to Name the Expansion Pack", is free. The third DLC, "Conquest of the Wizardlands", available for 3$.

Features:
    Steam Workshop.
Classic Roguelike gameplay with the sweet, refreshing taste of point-and-click interfaces. No longer must you press CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-x to drink a potion.
Randomly generated dungeons entice you with the sweet, sweet promises of treasure and … things.
Old-school pixel goodness. Face lovingly hand-animated monsters and enjoy the great taste of beautiful, individually rendered items on top of a sea of gorgeous, potent tilework.
Wield the awesome power of the Anvil of Krong, lest it wield you!
    Incredibly complicated crafting system!
Diggles! Blobbies! Thrusties! Hordes of Monsters never-before seen!
Infinite replay value: choose from a selection of mind-boggling skills to create your character. A new gameplay experience awaits every time!
    Did we mention there’s lutefisk?

I wanted to share it, because of this:

Is that Guybrush Threepwood smashing pineapple monsters in the video? The art is nice, but feels kinda BIG. Ill reserve my judgement until I play it.

Hum, hum, Twitter had the solution about the release date:

Will do release tomorrow, in keeping with the spirit of "trying to do things before other people" and so beating @notch and Minecraft 1.6.

It will cost 10 bucks or less, or so it seems.

So...  You won't play virtually any game ever (except DF) anymore?

I love the "Congratulations!  You have died!"

The monster fights look epic.

Well there's Die By The Sword.
And most bullet hells and several action games, like Sonic or Crash Bandicoot.

Of course, DF uses a HP system per limb/tissue/part, so maybe so long as they're hidden or applied per piece it's alright, opening up a lot of FPSs and at least the boss battles in several games.
