Two days without dev_next

Every day in the morning (except at the sunday´s mornings and monday´s mornings)my first read in the day is the dev_next page. It appeases my hunger for DF updates, and sometimes it is really funny.

Now for two days we had nothing. Why?  :(

Well, obviously, Toady opened up an alternate dimension when he accidentally made Dwarf Fortress too powerful with the last update, whatever it may have been. The program suddenly created, through sheer force of programming, another dimension based on the parameters of Dwarf Fortress, where Toady and Threetoe now must fight (and dig) for their very survival. Obviously.

I, too, have been deeply disturbed by his silence.  WHAT IF HE DIED.  I don't think I could live on knowing there would never be any more DF updates ever. T_T

On April Fools Day, I was originally going to change my display name to ThreeToe and make a post staying that Toady had perished, but I figured that that would have been a bit... excessive.

My personal guess is "Okay, this part is almost working, then I can take screenshots and write it up and--damn it, that's broken, might be a few more hours.  Okay, NOW it's almost working, and then I can--oh damn it not again."

It's been two days. Relax, people have lives.

Toady may have taken a surprise vacation, he may be very sick, he may be working hard and just forgotten to post the updates, who knows.

Freak out if he doesn't say a word for two weeks.

What is this "Life"?  I just sit at the computer all day reading penny arcade, VGcats, YAFGC, Ctrl alt delete, and suicide for hire with Bay 12 open in another tab and DF running in the background.  I know not this "life" you speak of.

In  all seriousness Toady is probably just buzy.  He'll get to it when he gets to it unless the source actually DOES get released tomorrow.  Who knows, maybe he's working on Armok 1 or dragslay.

I'm disapointed because I was really really anxious to see how he would handle stage 6. Of course he has the right to do what he wants.

I'm curious about how I'll handle Stage 6 too.  I've just been thinking a few extra days.  I miss the caravan arc and physical appearance variables, and I imagine I'll have to make some more silly temporary implementations.  Anyway, I should have a dev_now update today.

edit:  Where today means 10AM eastern tomorrow.  Which is bed time.

Toady, you know how much we worry. You need to hire an agency that updates a feed every 5 minutes detailing what you're doing and where you are before we can rest easy.
