Linky.

So, it's like roleplaying you're a starship captain but not being so sad and lonely because there's a computer program that does most of the hard work for you and you have to have friends along.

...Anyone live in the North-West of England?

It looks good, but $40 is a bit steep for an indie game. I do like the prospect of getting a free copy for advertising via the demo version, though.

Oh my lord... its the ultimate Trekky toy.  It beats the cr** out of the 'real' Star Trek games just for the a bility to co-op in real bridge-style fashion. Mwhahahahahaha! To say that isn't impressive would be a total misunderstanding.  Its bloody brilliant.   8)

Edit: By the way, I'll play the engineering officer if anyone is willing to even try this out.

One $40 copy allows you to download it for 6 stations, so if 6 people chipped in $6.66 it would be a decent price-point.

Apparently version 1.1 added the ability to play over the intertubes, so presumably things have become more friendly in that regard.

Not exactly sure, but you can do the same thing with the probable exception of real-life social gathering and (mostly)real action, in Shores of Hazeron...

This game always intrigued me... still at the time (year ago I think).. the trouble of making a vid for a full-game or handing over 40bucks wasn't worth it.

I only took a quick look-see and still just doesn't seem worth it. Wan't a bit more features for that kind of money. The mission thing might be the thing that gets me to buy it. Still, it will really depend on what kind of stuff one can build.

The idea and possibilities behind the game are great though.

Except for the fact that Hazeron is hit or miss on when it wants to even connect :P

So. I bought this game with some free money.

There are problems. Game is kind of unstable. Netcode isn't amazing, But it can be fun. Is fun, even, when things are good.

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

Anybody want to organise a game of this sometime? Reusable-box bought the game and gave a load of us his licenses, and it seems more people are buying it. We had a few games last night on the demo and attempted some on the full. It's pretty fun, it's better when people know what they're doing though. It can get quite hectic with 6 to a ship as well.
