F***ing crutches, how do they work?
« on: July 23, 2011, 04:05:16 pm »

So yeah.
I have the crutch in my hand, but I can't figure out how to actually use it. I've tried holding it as the only held thing. It doesn't matter.
Do I need two crutches or something?

Holding it in your hand is all you need to do.
You need to get some skill in crutch walking before you can move fast.

There's also a bug where you'll be counted as using it if you put it in a backpack from your hand.

Figures. Thanks.
...
While we're on the topic, any way to make macros loop?

Oddly, after two levels I see absolutely no gain in speed.
Am I supposed to be able to stand up with the crutch? 'Cause I can't.

I know a way to 'loop' the macro.  Its not really a macro loop as much as it is insane.  While recording the macro, do the steps you want to include in the macro, and then hit the macro play button.  It will proceed to re-record the macro actions that the macro is doing.  Each time you do this, the macro performed count will double.  Suddenly, you're throwing a rock 1024 times, which can take a long time.

Um...
A broken lower spine, and yellow upper and lower body. But I should still be able to use a crutch, right?

Oh well.
I guess my adventurer has earned a well-deserved retirement. It helps that she's rich from raiding lairs.

Ya crutchs only work if one of your legs is disabled such as nerve damage or severing and it takes FOREVER to level up crutch walker becuase you only get 1 exp a step.

Any thoughts on how this can be abused?

According to that and I my memory from my disabled adventurers, you can still walk with crutches with both legs disabled. But you say you are using 1-crutch: If you know what crutches are, you should know you would need two if both legs are disabled.

If you (p)ut the crutch into a container while walking with it, you'll still walk as if you have a crutch even though it's inside a bag inside a chest inside a chest inside your backpack.

You can then drop it on the ground and it'll still work.

You'll still gain crutch-walker, too.
