I use a pump stack design based on this: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=72296.0

Yeah that's what i was using. But I must've done the designation wrong because it's all a big mess now. meh either it'll get fixed or it won't. At the very least it'll give other players something to do. "fix this newbies Horrible obvious mistake!"

Apologies but I'm not going to be able to take my turn.  I did take a look at the fortress.  Holy crap a lot of stuff was mined out in the last turns and there are a serious number of dwarves 235.  Someone also went crazy putting up pillars all over the outside world.

Okay, you're skipped then. Damnit, this means I'm gonna have to take a turn. I'll start ASAP.
Also, we're still open for more people to join.

Okay, you two've been added. Unfortunately, I'll be unable to even start my turn, so it's John's turn now.

The Reign of Jack

PART 1

1st Granite, 14

So.  I, Jack, am the new leader.  Huh.  This is going to be fun.

3rd Granite, 14

I get it, I get it.  Stop yelling at me about all your masterpieces, everyone.

11th Granite, 14

I've decided what my big, lasting mark on the fortress shall be.  It shall be my home.  It shall be my place of burial.  It shall be awesome, and it shall be mine.

1st Slate, 14

Lorbam Olinbisol, one of the dwarves designated "useless", appears to have been posessed.

3rd Slate, 14

Definitely posessed.  Claimed a magma forge.  I sense a great contribution to dwarven history coming up.

12th Slate, 14

Bodies of Likot Kuletteling and Risen Isankel were found today.  Died of thirst.  They carried orders, unsigned, to dig in such a way as to get trapped, inevitably killing them.  Obviously, one of the former overseers is a traitor.  Which one, though?

(Note: Don't do this.)

14th Slate, 14

Two more bodies, one on top of the other.  Shorast Okunbim and Thob Cogtad.  Same orders.

16th Slate, 14

And another body.  Unib Bisekzefon, a tunnelsmith.  More of the damn orders.

On a slightly happier note, Lorbam's started his creation.

21st Slate, 14

Lorbam's done it.  Lorbam's made history.  He made a ring, worth approximately 121200 dwarfbucks or whatever.  A fine piece, and one that shall go down in history as having been made during my reign.  My reign!

Yeah those dead guys are my fault. You/I probably should have checked the pumpstack. Also how did you like my engraving? You may need more tunnelsmiths after the casulties my incompetence caused.

Another crime of Monkeyfaced! He has already allowed an elf sympathizer to live! Burn him!

PART 2

23rd Slate, 14

Pokey willingly confessed.  The culprit for the digger deaths has been found.  His punishment: he shall be sent to hunt.  For the rest of his time in the fortress.  He has been expelled from the military as well.

25th Slate, 14

Pokey, panicking, gave us a list of the remaining entombed miners.  We're trying to dig them out, but we've lost two more.

1st Felsite, 14

Make that four more.

3rd Felsite, 14

Five.

5th Felsite, 14

Six.

Also, a giant toad somehow ended up in the fortress.  Our soldiers have dealt with it admirably.

Finally, the baron is showing an awful bit of an obsession over buckets.  Ordered us to make more, and now banned us from exporting them.

6th Felsite, 14

Eight.

11th Felsite, 14

SPEARS.  NO EXPORT.  EXPORT SPEARS BAD.

I hate exporting spears.  I told everyone to stop.  They will.

16th Felsite, 14

Elven caravan came.  Yay.

20th Felsite, 14

Robbed the poor elves blind.  Consider this revenge for having to deal with that elf-loving dwarf who made that bow last year.

Ooops? I knew the pumpstack was a bad idea.Well miners are pretty easy to train. just turn of all other labours and have them dig out a couple of z-levels. Sorry 'bout killing all our miners.
