Maximum FB count?

I now have four Forgotten Beasts in my underground cavern system, and it seem like they just, keep, coming. Just wondering simply if they ever stop.. Coming, if there is a maximum number of beasts in caverns, or unlimited?

Forgotten beasts are generated when the world is created, and there is a finite number of them in the world.  It is possible to run out, although this can take a long time.  There's no limit as far as I know to how many can be on your map at once, so it should be theoretically possible to collect every FB in the world eventually.

I'm guessing the amount is based on region size. I took all the FB's on a medium region to make it so I can spawn them in arena mode and I got 243.
