Gotta love ironic burials.
« on: September 05, 2011, 07:34:35 pm »

My first dwarf dies to a giant badger, so I designate a coffin and a statue for him, and dig out a basic crypt.
Turns out, the statue is of a pair of fire snakes. I go to look at the dead dwarf's thoughts and preferences, and sure enough he absolutely detested them. Now he gets to sit with them for all eternity.

That didn't last long, huh? Shame, cause binary's cool. Anyway, an important message: I will be changing my names on every username based thing I use to ASCIt on/around 10/1. Consolidating, I guess you could say.

And then you have an immortal guardian against the foul beasts.

I don't see an issue here.

It would be nice if Unfortunate burial arrangements caused ghosts, but it might be a little annoying.
Like if a noble rises simply because his crypt isn't embellished with enough engravings of cheese, or maybe because he positively detests galena and you dug the crypt into a vien of it.

They're nearly as bad as badgers. Build a couple of anti-buzzard SAM sites marksdwarf towers and your fortress will look like Baghdad in 2003 from all the aerial bolt spam. You waste a lot of ammo and everything is covered in unslightly exploded buzzard bits and broken bolts.

Or because as soon as he died you gave his tomb to the next noble and stuck him in a crypt like an anonymous worker.
