Well... I DID drop a cow into those caverns, but before I noticed he was dead I had never seen anything apart from FB's in those caverns.

Forgotten beasts are NOT all immune to magma. My giant eyeless tanager tried to path through my magma dispensing shaft and got immersed in falling magma. Now he is half-melted and bleeding all over the place. Huzzah!

PHEW!
So, immersing the ice beast in magma did nothing. However, since it was surrounded by magma, it didn't move. So I channeled a hole out above it and designated a pond. One bucketful later, and I now have a chunk of obsidian where the nastiest Forgotten Beast I've yet met once stood.

Fortunately the deadly-dust bird didn't path up through the hole and kill my fort. I think I'll bleed that one to death with bolts or something. Fortunately all its protective fat is gone from swimming in magma.
