Game looks fun so far, likely gonna come over to Libya soon, once I have plenty of supplies, and get a few more scientist levels.

I have started the long, ardous five hour journey to Libya. I don't have much, though, in the way of supplies. Everything was mindblowingly expensive. $30 per unit of stone, for starters.
Same, except I don't have any supplies. I intend simply to start discovering resources as soon as I get there, even have a scout's hat and a gas detector.

How do I even get those, by the way?

The obvious goal here is to recruit until we've got more population in Libya than the USA in the game. We need about 40 players.

I'm going to collect resources for the rest of today, travel while I sleep in real life.

Scouting Britain and America they aren't really that far developed so far so we could likely become quite strong, I wouldn't try and rush stuff to much, we'll get there, I'll head back tomorrow or after tomorrow to accept more citizens into the country, but I really need money for exploring (only leader can explore and it costs 100 a tick to explore so I really need cash)

I did start two buildings but don't let that stop you starting your own if you have the materials, the base buildings (Like job center) seem to require about 300 Timber and 200 Stone but that was only for the market, might be different for others, and I set the cost of area on the city and mine plots to ridiculously low prices.

As for politics there does seem to be a good possibility of intrigue, I think there can be multiple leader type things like vice presidents or something but I'm new to this game myself.

Hmm so, I'm an engineer/scientist. Is there a reason for me to come to Libya sooner rather than later? Or should I just work on my skills/money and buy a bunch of materials at some point and then head over? I got the hat I need to find forests but I just noticed it says only country leaders can explore to find new areas, so that may have been a waste of $200.

Edit: Oh and how does building work? If a building needs 20 stone/wood per tick and has 200 "construction level" needed, does that mean it needs 20 x 200 = 4000 of each?

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Nah, more then just 1/200 is made each tick, the Market I was working on would complete 14 each tick and use only 20 timber/10 stone that tick.

... so it appears I messed up. Apparently choosing 100 IQ and 0 strength prevents you from, well, doing anything.
Anyone find a link for deleting character so I can restart, I can't find? Or should I just create a new account?

Well, I discovered you can swap out max strength & IQ any time by eating testosterone pills or mulberries. I'm eating 1 testosterone pill now, I started with 70 Str / 30 IQ so I'm going to Max out Str now and focus on Str related jobs, for added efficiency. I only need to eat 15 testosterone (total cost $150) to get this.

I'm also considering what job to focus on as my second slot, maybe Farming ??

There are IQ jobs, Engineer, Scientist and one other I can't remember off top of my head.
Grab one of their books, read that, then go to job center and do work for the gamemaster there. Chances are though that the Engineer jobs are full, they really should look into that.

ALSO::

I have been doing some foraging, so if anyone wants some Mulberries (Increase IQ, Lower Str) or some (Fresh)Sloe (Replenish IQ) let me know...

We have a pile of ppl already saying they're Engineers, at least 3, none said they were a builder, so I picked builder as my main skill.

Builder = strength score ability, so I'm maxing out my strength to be better at that, a specialist builder. Farming is also a strength job, so I'm picking that as my secondary.

Seems like the game is set up to favour focusing on one or the other. That way everyone is more productive at what they do.

EDIT: Unless I'm misreading how the rules work, this is early days.

Seems about right, there is stuff that needs IQ though even if your strength based. (Miners need Scientist to find them stuff to mine)

Also, since markets abroad have low materials for purchessing I think I have a basic gameplan.

1st: I'll get a job and collect what money I can

2: Look for forest plots.

3: Get a Scientist to look for trees(After have him find some mining spots)

4: Get to work cutting trees.

5: Use the wood to build a Sawmill (Only requires wood not timber)

That should get us basic material inputs and will allow us to advance.

However I still need Stone and Timber to finish the market so we can transfer materials to each other (I don't know if there is a way to transfer materials without a market)

I can get Timber if I add engineering to my professions and if I get 8k More exp I can learn mining and get the stone I think
