Point Value of "Limitations"
« on: February 24, 2008, 12:04:00 pm »

Well I was thinking, if we could somehow, as a community, come up with a specific point value for "Limiting" yourself on what you do with your fortress ;
for instance, if you decide that your dwarves won't dig underground at all, that could be worth a good 300 points ; so it would be legit to give yourself a extra 300 points at the start screen. Maybe design a utility that changes your starting points based on your limitations, and them limits you based on them? ( i.e., disabling digging ) and then even perhaps you could buy the limitations off by trading wealth for points... i don't know. What do you guys think?

Sounds interesting, and it could certainly lead to a whole new style of competition. Now we just need somebody to actually do it.

Interesting, but that balance is a bit off. One steel axe, versus a mountain worth of craft goods, gems, ores...

Um, isn't the point of limitations to make the game harder or something?
