As painful as it is to say this, I don't think this is a pre-release silence. It's probably more of a "Welp nothing's going on, what to say, WHAT TO SAY HM." silence.

Who knows what the cause of the silence is, or if it's even important

End of October or early to mid December for this release, then January for the bugfix release.

Centration. Similar to Spacestation 13, but in 3D and first-person. Sounds damn awesome.

I bet if the next version is released on 11/11/11, it will create an ocean of tears.

This is from Sept 13:

I still have a page of issues for each of the new night creatures, and six and a half pages for the cities/markets/underground, in addition to the animal stuff.

As of Oct 15, he's finished werebeasts and necromancers and gotten partway through mummies.  That leaves vampires, cities and animal sponsorship stuff (I'm estimating that as another half page's worth).  That's 2 2/3 pages done (out of 11 total) over 32 days, so .08333 pages a day.  That would put the completion date at Jan 23, assuming all note-pages are equal and the fudge factors are accurate.

January eh?

Oh well, I've recently discovered the joys of quench pit mining in the magma sea, and can happily encase several dozen more miners in cooling magma until then.

Diso Faintpuzzles was born in 120.  Although accounts vary it is universally agreed that Diso was chosen by fate as the vanguard of destiny.

In the early spring of 143 Diso began wandering the wilds.

In the early spring of 143 Diso starved to death in the Horn of Striking.

From all the DF players trying to choose between this or Skyrim?
Someone should make a skyrim-themed mod... (off-topic: Something in my mind wants to call them RAW-packs...)

If this 'is' released on that fateful day...  and I manage to get both at the same time..  Skyrim will have to wait for another hour or two.

I do have a TES mod... reactions are horribly bugged and I don't have time to fix them, but it's there in the modding forums.
