The new people we have meet must forced to become our eternal slaves and be made to work for our sick enjoyment.

...

Or, alterntively, just convince them to join our town.

Yes, we should.

Altough it's not much of a town.. not even a village.. yet.

Give of those tough women a shovel and have them dig out a small hole near the fire. Line the bottom with leaves and place our food supply inside before night falls. Cover the top first with sticks, then leaves, and finally a layer of dirt. Lay a few of Rolf's bricks at the edges to protect it!

Send the idlers to help de-branch the trees with their hands, when they have been felled.

This also instead of using clay, and sand to make bricks use mud as it is far more efficient, and much faster than using clay, and sand. As for defenses we should begin digging a trench from the ocean all the way to the edge of our village, and connect them thus making a small moat. We can expand it as needed, and cross it with a simple branch bridge when needed this will give us quite a bit more protection, and should allow us to work through the night if need be. Finally we should also begin preparing some torches to help fend off animals as most animals are scared of fire.

3 turns until nightfall

Every time you do that, I keep hearing that sound from Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask whenever the game announces how many hours remain.

What is the name of this kind of brick? Because according to Wikipedia a "Mud" brick is "made of a mixture of clay, mud, sand, and water".

Adobe, which is properly made of a very dense sort of soil with straw and cow feces mixed in. Said soil, however, in places such as where I live, is usually dense enough without the addings.

Wikipedia still says that it "is a natural building material made from sand, clay, water, and some kind of fibrous or organic material".

My best explanation would be that your soil has a already strong concentration of clay or something.

Just to clarify do you want the trench to block off the path to the forest?

Have someone gather plants.  We should try to make rope so that we can make fishing nets.
